Hermie question...

hi,
as i was drying my white widow, i notice there are some seeds drop off on the bottom. now 1 or 2 is no big deal to me, but i notice some smaller nugs have more seeds,
there are no male plants anywhere near them,
i heard stress could cause the plant to hermie and self produces seeds but this seems like there are more seed than i expected.
only the WW are producing seeds, everything else is not.
does anyone have any input on this?
if it is due to stress, how much seeds does it produces?

i had a simular problem in the past with my skunkSpecial
not 1 pollen ball/bannana visible anywhere in the garden, but every ss clone was seeded

i ended up with about 1100 seeds, slung em all in the trash,

though not 1 of the White widow showed any sign of seeds,
even though they were in the same room

for me this was down to pollen balls inside the actual female buds,
since they both flowered in the same places

i got myself some better seeds, and havent had the problem since
some plants will stress/hermie easier than others, the cause can be pritty wide
light, stress due to transplaning, being given hermie prone seeds from a friend

this was my own experience with a hermie,
i got some better seeds, never had the problem since

Sounds far to crazy for me, Were you breeding near the plant or did you play with any males else where like maybe even a few hours or a day prior, I reckon sometimes pollen sticks to your clothes and when moving about of taking them off puff up and do their thing,

If you haven't been round any males then I'm stumped.

Plants can easily form there own seeds, it happens for several reasons in many different plant species.

I am fully aware of this but there would be some form of conception? correct me if Im wrong but at least the plant itself should show some even minuscule male properties?

if its completely female and has seed?

Maybe try one or two if their viable and become female and produce more seeds?

This is the first I'm hearing on this topic and I have personally never had this happen to me? Which would explain my speculation?

Do you have any ref?

Thanks

The male parts probably opened, dropped a touch of pollen, then shriveled up and died, leaving no visible traces of male "bananas" or male flowers by the time the plant was harvested, dried and smoked.

Starting to see some options. :) sorry chaps Im as confused as the chap posting, I have been growing forever and never have I had this issue.

I can believe how it would be stress as my plants are a bunch of chillers they never herm, only if i predict it,

thanks everyone.. as i dry my meds earlier today i notice i got a lot more seeds than it should...
i do not have any males in the house, as soon as i saw any signs of male, i killed them. (and that was months ago, when these were only babies) so theres no way any pollen could get into these.
there was other strains in the room, same system/life (ebb) and they dont have any seeds

now as i notice only the smaller popcorns, mainly from the bottom of the plants that has seeds, the top colas dont have any.
i had this strain (white widow) for a long time and grew it before and never had any seeds till now...?

Crazy shit, the mystery of the whoring male marijuana plant :)

Well i guess i learnt some thing new here so shot, are you gonna try them seeds out?

I short term solution to hermie problems is to mist the plants once a week to neutralize pollen. I had a mom that reveged wrong. She was giving me clones that had hermie tendencies and I was getting 6 or so OZ's of seed bud per batch. I started misting once a week in flowering and that went down to less then half an OZ.

I agree... one of my sativas hemnied on me with my outdoor this year... but it is raining solid for the next 5 days so i am not to worried as this will deff make the majority of the pollen sterile :)

but once the rain stops ill deff have to mist them for a few weeks after untill i dont see any more balls forming
