Wrong, quite wrong.
We purchased the third property over year ago. It has three units, on two floors. Without heat, we couldn't complete work on it during the Winter. We've been planning the move for quite a while. The white-trash matriarch died almost three months ago. We were threatened by the mentally ill, "down low", parolee three weeks ago. That, and the drunken vandalism after their Super Bowl party, were the last straw. ( They probably blamed us for calling the cops when in fact our police officer neighbor was the one to call 911 after a fight broke out in the alley behind his house. )
Hmmm. A former real estate agent who doesn't know how to spell "fucking". How unfortunate.
We're in our mid 60's. The grandchildren in question are between 28 & 30. The worst of the uncles are probably in their mid 40's. The oldest of them are either missing or already dead. One of them died 20 years ago while under inditement for a homosexual gang-rape. Such a wonderful family, won't you agree?
As mentioned previously, the decision to move was made over a year ago. It'll be at least another three or four months before we've completed the project. In the meanwhile, we want to keep a lid on the scum, prepare to do them dirt as the situation requires, and wait for the "rapid response" team to bust them.
Go back and read our previous posts. We asked for subtle methods of dealing with the situation, not the cowboy approach. We're already quite well armed, if it ever comes to that. So, tuck your nuts back in your pocket. We needed an outlet to vent, and some thoughtful ideas, not a lecture or a haughty harangue.

and btw, standing your ground and not moving is what's affordable to 95% of the old timers here, consider yourself fortunate that you're in the money situation you are. whereas my posts to that effect are in your thread they're addressing more than just you Bass. moving is NOT an option to most.

What a tough guy ... apparently with no family, no property, and nothing to live for beyond going "medieval" in the name of vengeance and retribution -- nothing left to lose, right?
I have known people like that, at least they held that attitude of pure piss & vinegar Before their first stint in prison for acting outside the law -- it's amazing what 18 months prison time and another 3 years on a very short parole "leash" will do to "moderate" a "cowboy" attitude.
The difference between you and me is that I don't give advice that I wouldn't take myself, and I value my freedom too much to do something really stupid. I have also been around long enough to know that karma both good and bad are real, and that matters of dishing out vengeance are a sign of weakness, a false pride.
Don't misunderstand me -- I am no pushover, and in a life or death situation I would not hesitate to drop the hammer on my foe. But I have matured as I grew up, and know the difference between when to act, and when not to. It sounds like you haven't reached that point yet.
FWIW: Your personal attack on me in the parent post tends to confirm your immaturity. I hope that you grow out of it, before it brings you some serious grief at some point.

here's my last post as I'm tiring of this David, I'm standing by my original creedo, "You don't cut and run you take a stand", that pertaining to the public as a whole not just the OP here.
What stand you take is up to you, political, neighborhood watch, or guards dogs as was my suggestion. I warned AGAINST the use of guns. you started w/the Gran Torino thing.
if you guys think that 'taking a stand' means standing off intruders with guns then you're watching too much TV. it was fun taking a poke at you w/the lunch money joke I must admit.......

There is something to be said for moving, and renting your house out. While I completely agree with the "stand your ground" mentality. If your neighborhood has declined, then that might be the sign to go.
