I hate politics....

I was preparing taxes this afternoon in an office with a CPA. As I was finishing up, the guy started talking politics. I already know that we are on the opposite side of most issues and it would have been best just to walk away, but.......

Anyway, I've been open with folks working for our family firm concerning my plans for this growing season. (I'll be heading to NorCal in a couple of weeks.) As I'll be leaving before the end of tax season, plans had to be made to replace me. Otherwise, it would really be none of their bidness.

I made the mistake of engaging the guy on the topic of fiscal reform and soon we were arguing about gay marriage and the fiasco in Wisconsin. (He is a right wing, conservative Christian.) Needless to say, we were both getting pissed toward the end.

As I was walking away Petie said, "I should know better than to talk politics with you. You smoke too much dope!"

That made me pause. "How is that, Pete?" I asked.

"You need to quit smoking dope. It's messing up your ability to think clearly," he replied.

I just laughed and said, "Is that so? Well, I think the real problem is that you need to stop attending that church."

I smiled, hit the door and was gone.....

(End of rant.)
