Need help with heat and light in DR60

Hello.
I intend to start a crop in a DR60, imagine that running with 400W HPS.
As I thought of having ventilation duct fan 100mm 145 / 187 m³.
Will it be too hot so I should go down to the 250w hps?
I´v also gonna use a Super Spreader.
Thanks for the reply

Bless

if you are worried about the heat maybe you should think about using a cmh bulb. they do not get as hot as your normal hps bulb. they give off very little heat. i dont know anything about the duct fan you are talking about, but if it has little as flow then you should be fine.

are you using a sealed hood.

DR60 is a small tent for 400w. I run 400w in a tent the size of a DR90, and that's plenty of light. Also, a spreader is pointless, every corner of my 3x3 is light brightly by a 400w.

Get a bigger tent or a smaller light. Oh, and you will have to have a ventilated hood or cool tube if your ambient temp is higher than about 60*F.

I have a 250w hps my DR60 and if my ambient temps go up I am walking a fine line between overheating and that is with a 4in inline fan for exhaust. Like qbert said... bigger tent or smaller light. 400w in a DR60 is a waste anyway... thats over 100w/sf after the sides cave in.

Ive been growing in a DR60 with a 400w hps for over the last year with great results. I grow perpetually in 2 gal pots and average 1-1.5 oz per plant with 7-9 in the tent at a time. I only run into heat issues during hot days during the summer, which can be controlled with a swamp cooler or ac unit in the same room.

Dr60 will be fine with a 400w and is the max size for that tent. Its a little small but do-able. I use a 250w in a 1.5' x 1.5'. You'll need a strong fan and a 100m will not do it. I use a Td100x for my 250w and that pushing it. Atleast a Td125 or probably a TD150...

Honestly, even if you can get away with a 400w light in a DR60, there's no need. A 250w light in the DR60 is already over 50w per sq/ft and that's pretty standard. If you really want to use a 400w light then get a DR80-90+. Otherwise the 250w is perfect. Less heat, less cost, and all the light your plants will ever need. Sometimes less is more.

i grow in home box 0.60x0.60 x120 for many times with a 250w mh and hps with cooltube or normal reflector , i think the 400w is too big for that dr60, maybe you can put a 400w but with cooltube you no, your temps go down from 30°c to 22°c sure this i no because i try grow with normal reflector and the temps go like 28/30°c but when i buy cooltube they go down straight to 22/24°c and you can put light very close to the plants, this is good example if you want try 4oow in this tent dr60...just my 2cent brotha!!

This is a tough question to answer without knowing your ambient temps. How warm is it in the room the tent will be in, and how capable are you of controlling those temps?

I run a 400w CMH in a DR80. I keep my ambient room temps at 72, and running a 6" 435 CFM exhaust fan (tuned down) at medium I can keep the tent at 78-84 degrees with the light on. I have to open the side flaps for intake, the 4" intakes on the bottom weren't enough.
