Oh my gosh UHN!
your pictures and grow have given me a great gift!
A big Ole Smile!!!
Haha
The oldtimers haze pics make me think of that clear and invigorating high.
The Banghi n' senor G look very superb!
I'm really glad your harvest is so pro! Hazes are a very hard thing to tame.
Mine were extremely low yielding, My mind is encouraged to obtain better results like yours!
Thanks UHN for the Amazing Thread, inspiration is the best!

TheSg,

I appreciate the comments, but I am far from Pro. These strongly sativa influenced plants are a challenge (and joy) to grow. I kept close eyes on them and tried to maintain a light hand in feeding (which seemed almost perfect for the OTH1's but ended up being too light for the Bangi Hazes. Yields on the OTH1 was adequate considering her size and overall amount of sunlight. This summer, I may train a bit more to increase yields as well as add some supplemental light in my modest green house space.

The Bangi Haze were started in a SCROG to increase the branches and bud sites. She is very columnar otherwise, which can limit yields indoors. Ultimately, they got pretty big for their small pot size.

Good luck with your next go around. Keep us updated here and I will share advice wherever I can...

Hello Mad.Dapper,

Im glad you have had the chance to experience and harvest oldtimer's haze, it's indeed a very special line! The oldtimer's haze we have been offering it was pure haze, but we also have been distributing haze x thai seeds lately.

Thanks for your feedback and best wishes with the oldtimer's haze x afghan cross :)

Dubi,

I've got a pack each of P. Haze and G. Haze x Thai. Can't wait to run these, but it may be another season before I have the chance.

Sampled some compressed thai in Amsterdam recently. Would have been excellent if cured properly. All in the head with nice mild trip and up character. I'm sure these crosses will be nothing short of amazing.

After three weeks on the road, it's good to be home. I moved my Old Timer's Haze 1 clone outdoors before I left. She's dropping leaves and filling in. Not sure how she will compare to the original run as daylight hours are getting closer to 12/12 again.

I re-potted and clipped the clones I'm keeping for now. Placed under a timed drip, they managed quite well in my absence. The line up (All three, Bangi Haze #2, Senor Garcia, OTH1)

I am still not ready for tastings to begin. Possibly in the next week or two. The OTH1, I will leave for at least another month.

Should be starting my next round of seeds for selection. I plan on the Old Timer's Haze 1 (3 x 6) from 2007. Hope to get a decent germ rate on such old seeds. Also, will be cracking Tom Hills O-Haze, either Rez's SSSDH or SSSDH IX-I and possbily DJ F13. I'm really interested in finding best Haze females for my outdoor run this year. In addition, I'd like to pollinate the Senor Garcia female with the Haze males. A very nice poly sativa hybrid where the SG should lower height and flower times while increasing gland size and resin production. Can't wait to get started...

Here's the clone of the OTH1 thai leaning female. She got thrown outside during my three week business trip and seems to be managing the change in light cycle. Approaching 12/12 now, so I'm not sure how she will finish (anticipate another 3 weeks needed for full maturity). She's been pretty much neglected in my absence but has filled in nicely with the natural sunshine.

Looking nice UHN

This pheno has very fluffy buds, but the big bush it creates give plenty of smoke. Too much for me to spend time manicuring at harvest, so after drying, I strip the buds off the stems and put into the cure jars.

It's great to know UHN :)

If you are interested on breeding i'd highly recommend you to cross your best oldtimer's haze females with haze thai males, you'll get a very dominant improved oldtimer's haze line with a bit of thai ;)
Best wishes!

HHHG,

This pheno is a lovely wispy girl. I have a clone Mother and may re-run this summer, depending on what I get out of my next seed selection. I'm glad you enjoy her. I am patiently waiting my first samples.

Dubi, I am just now starting 4 seeds from old pack OTH1 3 x 6. I hope to get 3 to sprout. I will keep best females as I go forward for my late summer/fall/winter grow outdoors. I will then compare to the current 1 x 6 female I am keeping. Over time, I will sort out favorite female OTH1 plants. Then I can begin planning the OTH1 x (OTH1xThai). That sounds like an amazing cross for future exploration! It may take me a few years, but it can be done.

Cheers,

Got three to germ but one of them didn't have the legs, so only 2 for 4. Not too bad considering how old these seeds were. I'm considering starting a few more, but I've got three healthy Tom Hill Haze as well as three SSSDH IX-I from Rez. Along with the current clone mother OTH1, I hope to be able to find 5 good females for my outdoor crop. I'll be on the lookout for the stud male to play with as well.

Baby OTH1 3 x 6

The clone OTH1 1 x 6 clone outdoors is in her 18th week, which is now longer than I let the original flower. She was a touch behind from the first 10 weeks flower under artificial lights. I will let her go another week or two as she doesn't seem to have mold issues now that temps have climbed a bit. We're over 12 hours daylight now, but doesn't seem to have too much effect.

Bangi Haze(s) SMOKE REPORT

Grinding the bud produces a nice lemony/citrus spicy funk. #3 was also a bit mentholated. Flavors are similar. Light in the vape bag. I had tried both the more stringy sativa leaning #2 (left above) and the chunkier #3 (right). Both have a similar taste and effect with #2 winning my nod for being even more electric and slightly more flavorful. I have to say that this is truly a unique high for me. Strong in the head with some tachycardic activity and electric body tingle.

Several hits from the vape bag and you begin to feel her effects. Very strong cerebral activity. Medium duration, but the medicine has you craving more.

Be wary mixed with alcohol. The brain sharpening Bangi Haze mixed with brain reducing alcohol produces a very pronounced synergistic/antagonistic response.

I feel this is great day time herb. Also good where energy and focus are required.

Thanks for the feedback UHN :)

It's great to read more Oldtimer's Haze smoke reports, very few growers have had the courage and patience to grow, harvest and smoke this incredible sativa.

As you experienced, high is not extremely powerful (because it's a very highly inbred line) but has a strong crazy electric nature. Im glad to hear you are growing more oldtimer's haze seedlings for your own breeding projects, hopefully you'll find outstanding females (or even males!), haze line truely shines when is outcrossed with the right strains. Good luck!

Sorry for confusion Dubi, report above is for the Bangi Haze. and is partial of report I put in the IC Smoke Report forum. The OTH is still curing. I think the Bangi could use a bit more cure as well (been about 6-7 weeks from harvest), but first experience has been a very positive one. These were older seed release (I think I received them in 2007 or 2008). I would say the High is pretty strong, but mostly in the head. I haven't felt any of the 'evil' strength some people report, but I took them after 12 weeks 12/12 with only small amount of amber. Perhaps another week or two would have engaged more the body. Regardless, I like her very much in the head - thank you. I can vape this all day long and still function in a very nice mental state with brain function of sharp order.

I will report on the OTH in due time but expect her to be lovely. I also look forward to crossing her out in the future. Let's hope for some purple Haze stock in 2012.

Salud,

Outdoor Clone of the last OTH1 is finishing up. 20 weeks 12/12 (10 indoor/10 outdoor). Finally getting some amber on a few buds. Actually, now that we are over 12 hours daylight, looks like she is trying to throw a new round of flowers. I will most likely take her in the next week as some of the bracts are beginning to yellow. Same slightly fruity, spicy, floral, metallic smell as the first round. As you can see, she really does have a nice resin coverage. First two, an upper cola. Close ups with the blue pin are of a lower stem.

The two new Ace 3 x 6 babies are looking good. I like the vigor in them out of the gate...More pics in a week or two.

Thank you Dubi! Old Timer's Haze seems to be a special treat. The first run of 17+ week 1 x 6 is over 3 months cure. I will be sampling very soon.

Here is what I have going right now...

Old Timer Hazes.
Group photo;
Old Timer Haze 1 x 6 clone;
OTH 3 x 6 #1,
OTH 3 x 6 #2,
3 x 6 #2 Fasciated stem

Both stems of the 3 x 6 show full glandular trichome production. #2 looks like it would prefer to grow like a vine - outward.

A quick update on the two Old Timer 3 x 6's I've been vegging. They are branching out big time. They both look to be females from what I can tell...

Kind of a blurry picture...

Agreed, they are a bit darker...but could be from good organic soil and feed.

Here they are today.

Compared to the 1x6 Clone Mother

Here's a shot of the cabinet indoors. I chopped all tops after the photos. OTH's are back left. Also got some Tom Hill Haze and Rez Super Silver Sour Diesel Haze running. I may move all three OTH1 outdoors to keep vegging.

Have a good weekend. Family reunion for me.
