Supplemental Lighting

Hi All, New member here setting up a second flower room to keep up with my veg romm overflow and looking for advice. My room is 5'x7'x8' high.I'm trying to use existing equipment that I have so I'll be using an open 1000W HPS and a 170 CFM exhaust with passive intake. I'm thinking of purchasing a light rail mover for the 1000W and then installing some side lighting on the 7' walls. My room is limited to a single 15 Amp power source so my side lighting needs to be consevative as far as power and heat is concerned. It also must have a penetration depth of about 2'6". Any suggestions? I've read about LEDs, but the reviews are so mixed and inconclusive. Great Site- Thanks.

Put in the center of room it should do fine. Open lite do you mean no reflector. I use a 1K hps in 26 sqft and it does well. I would love to have that extra 2 feet you've got.

I've been thinking about grabbin a bunch of 65 watt cfls and hanging them bare-bulb. Cheap, efficient, and probably effective.

I have a reflector but it's not enclosed and air cooled. I'm growing a sativa dominant strain that really stretches and spreads and experience with my other flower room, is that a 1000W alone will not be quite enough. I would just put another 1000W in there if I had the power supply and heat control, but was thinking maybe some compact floros or LED, but have no experience with them.
