SANTA ANA (KTLA) -- Narcotics officers in Santa Ana have uncovered Thursday night what they call one of the biggest marijuana growth operations they have ever seen.

Detectives served a search warrant on the location Thursday night and uncovered a sophisticated marijuana growth operation at the location, which was not licensed for business.

Cpl. Anthony Bertagna of the Santa Ana Police Department said officers received an anonymous tip that a business in southeast Santa Ana was illegally growing marijuana. Narcotics investigators were able to witness enough suspicious activity at the location to obtain a search warrant.

"The location was strictly strictly set up for different stages of growth," Bertagna said. "Every month they were moving about $130,000 of marijuana."

He also said the business had not had an operating license since 2009.

Narcotics investigators are calling this one of the biggest drug busts the department has ever conducted.

wow....can we say RAT?, i live in S.D,, and i didnt think O.C's grow ops were any bigger or smaller than anything out here, ....i dont know what the ''real '' story is,but i know snitches get stitches, sounds like someone has got something coming to him, and like KMK said, S.A. has a huge prob with the ''horse'' why are they screwing with these people?, is there more to the story?
