howdy everyone, figured it was time i start posting and stop lurking. i've been on the board for a few years now, but had to take a little hiatus while finding a better spot. new spot has been found, i am all moved in, and we are well under way :dance013:

first off, i guess i should go over the room design, equipment, medium, and genetics. i have a 12x8 room that i framed out in my basement with 2x4's, black poly, & mylar. i started off with (2) 1000w, and (4) 400w air cooled hoods ducted thru 3 lines of insulated ducting. for flowering we added an additional (2) 1000w air cooled hoods.

as far as genetics go, i received 18 cuttings of white widow, skunk#1, and lemon skunk. unfortunately my buddy mixed up their ID tags during an early transplant :joint: so we don't know what is what anymore. for my soil mix i went with BurnOne's mix:

- 3.8cf bag of ProMix
- 2cf bag of Roots Organic
- 1/4 bag of FFOF
- 1c FF blood meal
- 1c FF bone meal
- 1/2c dolomite lime
- 1.5c FF kelp meal
- 20% chunky perlite

i am a little late starting this thread, being that i have been in flowering for 21 days. but its okay since i have pictures ;x i just selected a few to recap early veg tonight, but if ppl want more i can always put them up.

VEG:
so i vegged these ladies out for about 2.5 months @ 3600w, it was a little slow at first rooting in a cold basement in a veg cab. dealt with a couple problems during veg, mainly rootbinding, finding out some blood meal was accidentally forgotten in the original mix (small pots), oh and i did not correctly prepare the soil by watering for a few weeks ahead. things moved quicker than i would have liked so we had no choice but to mix and go. all was well after a few weeks tho, and everything took OFF!

FLOWER:
so after 2.5 months of soaking up 24/0 light @ 3600w, these girls were HUGE and growing fast. the original intention was to get them into 12 gallon buckets, but many did not receive their final transplant into 5 gallons until a few days before the flip. So i opted to just run it out in the 5 gals, if i see rootbinding in any of them ill throw them into a 7 gal to give the roots somewhere to move.

since they were so big, about 36" at the time of the flip, and bushy.. and getting crowded, i decided to bring another 2000w to the room. The setup for veg had two 1kw lights in a row, flanked by a parallel row on either side of two 400w lights. With the additional 2kw, i decided to move each 1kw light to a "corner" and then run a straight line of four 400s down the middle.

i was going to keep the feeding to strictly what was in the soil mix, but ive since decided to give them a light feeding schedule. for nutes i will be using Budswel, AN Mother Earth Bloom Tea, AN Nirvana, and blackstrap molasses. feeding schedule is as follows:

A. Budswel + Nirvana
B. Plain water + molasses
C. AN Mother Earth Bloom Tea
D. Plain water + molasses

Alrighty, well on with the pictures i guess. Now that i am doing this thread i will start taking better pictures, get some with lights off.. with 5600w it's so bright! the pictures are a summary of clone - veg - early flowering (14 days most recent)

is it not possible to upload pics that are over 150kb? i had to resize these drastically to get them to upload, and just realized how small they actually are.. i swear i've uploaded larger pics than these before. if anyone knows how lemme know and i can swap these out above for much bigger hidef photos

Looking good mate! And if you're having your morning bowl, i guess it's time for my afternoon joint. As a wise man said, it's 4:20 somewhere, let's burn one.

i don't use any 600s. i have 4x 1000w and 4x 400w. this is the last run i will be using 400w in their hoods. next run they will be hung vertically in between rows of plants with 1000w ducted above horizontally.

and honestly, its the soil mix. thanks BurnOne! once the soil activated after a couple weeks the girls just took off. nothing but plain water went into their buckets until last week when i started their very light bloom tea & nutrient schedule.

Wow those plants are some monsters. With all that light it looks like you're in for a great yield. I like the simplicity of your grow. Best of luck during flowering.

Hey Funk, thanks for stoppin by the thread & checking it out. make sure to stay tuned, we are at 22 days today and they are starting to stack up into foot long colas already!

Fingers crossed for the yield being high, but whatever i get what i get. it's the first run on the new equipment, so as long as i can learn how to effectively use it, the next run i iwll be more dialed in. And ya, i love the simplicity of it too. I am sold on this soil mix, can't see changing it up for some time now.... unless i go aero, but i dont think i will ever leave soil fully.

Quick Update - Day 22 Flower

Woah they are stacking up fast! They have responded well to the Mother Earth Bloom Tea feeding they received last Friday, and are about to get some water & blackstrap molasses tonight.

A buddy of mine just gave me a bottle of Humboldt Nutrients: Deuce Deuce .. its their humic acid formula i believe. Does anyone have experience using this product? How/When would you recommend feeding it to the girls? Should I add it to one of the water + molasses feedings, or mix it with the budswel & nirvana tea, or ME Bloom tea? Here is the nute schedule again:

A: Mother Earth Bloom Tea
B: Water & Blackstrap Molasses
C: Budswel (1/2 dose) & Nirvana (1/2 dose)
D: Water & Blackstrap Molasses

Here is a sneak peak of what is to come, some fury white buds stacking up. I will have new pics on Monday, day 28 Flower.

:dance013::dance013::dance013::dance013::dance013::dance013::dance013:

EDIT: I've decided against using the Deuce Deuce. I saw a video of Roy Gomez talking about all their organic line, and I guess my bud was wrong this isn't their humic acid nutrient formula, just a P supplement. The ME Bloom Tea will take care of P, i'll just hold onto the deuce deuce and feed if the plant is P deficient.

My buddy does have the Flavorfulv and Honey ES, but I think the only one I might be interested in (since im not deuce deucing) would be the Flavorfulv, get some humic acid and derivatives into the soil. Lemme know if anyone has used this

when you drop em vertical I would ditch the 400's and move to 6's, that extra 200 will help penetrate the interior of your trees much better than the 400's. you clean up the bottoms on this run, they're not gonna get much light. plants look healthy though man, a couple of deficiencies but nothing too crazy. nice work! how bad is the watering, looks like you leveled your soil to the top the pot, pita probably when you water cause it overflows or you have to do it really really slow? good luck sorting out the strains, shouldn't be too hard at the end when they're on the racks.

hey Somoz - thanks for stopping by. Ya its not too bad on watering, the soil mix is so light and fluffy and really doesnt get scorched and dried out by the lamps.. plus i have a guy who does all the watering ;-) .. 600s seem like a good choice your right, but after doing some reviewing with my partner, we are pretty set on keeping everything horizontal again next run, but all on light movers. this is our current light config, and will be again next year, just on movers:

X X
xxxx
X X

Large X = 1000w
Small x = 400w

each 1kw will be on its own mover, and there will be 2 movers up the middle row (1 per two 400w). Two 400w hoods will be secured together with a coupler, moving as one hood on the mover. the room is also going to be kicked out a few feet, making it 12x12 instead of 12x8.

i absolutely want to incorporate vertical lights, unfortunately at this time my setup doesn't permit. in a year i will be purchasing a new location, that'll be when i kick off my vert runs.

stay tuned! pictures to come on monday or tuesday, they are plumping up and drinking a ton!

**UPDATE W/ PICS**

**UPDATE W/ PICS**

Hey all who may stumble in here, hows it going? just returned from the spot, and woah they have essploded in the past week. there are foot long + colas stacking up all over the room, and all the side branches and lower branches look fat as well. using 5600w and a 12x8 foot print with 18 plants we are able to get nice spacing, so like can penetrate far down the plant.. hardly a shadow in the room

But there is a new problem.. the root binding i have been avoiding has caught up with me. in the past 2-3 days the 8 girls that were transplanted into 5 gals a month+ ago started yellowing. nothing too major, i figured this would happen but thought it might not occur for a couple more weeks.. and i'd be good with that. so on wed i am putting atleast 1/2 of them.. maybe all.. into 7 gal pots. i just wanna give them a little breathing room.

they seem to be liking the nutrient tea and molasses schedule they are on, there is really fantastic resin production occurring everywhere. okay well onto the pictures i guess.. they just dont do any justice tho. and the HPS definitely makes the yellowing look worse than it really is :tree:

would it be worth transplanting into 10-12 gallon pots? there is only 5-6 weeks left in flowering, how much more will the roots really grow? i just don't want to throw them into 7 gallons to find out they need another transplant in a week or two. thoughts?

why would u assume that? i don't know either way, but i assumed if the plant gets rootbound and starts stressing it isnt going to uptake as much nutes or grow to its potential.
