I don't consider myself a bad person. I typically don't deal, it was just a situation I was in at the time. It's the same situation/circumstances/story that I was going to tell the Judge, really.
I was attending a pretty decent University and I was a senior when I pretty much pissed it all away and picked up my first felony. I won't go into details, but I'll say it was rather minor - only a D felony. However, after being released and put on probation, a mere 45 days later they violated me saying that I committed 3 more felonies, which absolutely DID NOT happen. There was a no-contact order, and the person continued to call me. When I refused to answer 50+ phone calls daily, that person then called the state police and said I was contacting them. I was arrested based on that. I got a copy of my phone records, but that wasn't enough. I had to sit in jail for 8 months, and then in the end they made me "admit to a probation violation" in return for dropping 3 C felonies (24 years max) which never occurred. However, since I admitted to the probation violation, I was no longer eligible to get the D felony reduced to a misdemeanor.
I pretty much stopped caring and gave up on life at that point. I couldn't find a job. But money made the world go 'round. I didn't get into dealing until I was homeless and needed a place to live. I know there were other things to do, but I didn't think of them.
