Pond enzymes sound great! Just another sign of cannabis products being ridiculously overpriced.
Very nice buds mate.

Peace

Running fish tanks or hydro ladies have a lot of similarities. I'll have to start looking before I pay those super high cana prices.

Some call it a disaster, I call it passive hydro

Some call it a disaster, I call it passive hydro

Thanks fellas, glad to have you checking in :good:

Man, I LOVE growing. My veg gully got flooded and I just smiled. Just a new challenge :) I put the low ones up on an island sort of thing and moved the bulb a bit. All good. The main problem is that it's continuous cloudy rainy weather so I have a bunch of flat batteries and no light, lol. Will buy a generator asap.

Narrowly avoided getting my 12v timer submerged too. It was a couple of inches above water level! (in the zip-lock bag under the blue container)

Also, had something fall on my EC meter so it's no longer working.

Also nearly out of veg nutes, sigh. I checked on my 20 litre hempy (in the hole) and it was submerged in water to about 5 inches from the top. :D

Here is a VBxErd #3 in a 10 litre hempy I put out yesterday:

And here's a budshot from the VBxErd 3 that I just harvested last time:

No mould on the erdpurt crosses at all and I doubt they ever would. The organic Top44 x Bigbud hempies were looking so nice before the rain. Now they're all slop and mould

Here is my pond stuff. It doesn't actually mention anything about enzymes, just "naturally occuring bacteria". But I would assume it's enzymes as well after reading up, or the bacteria is going to release the enzymes, or whatever. I put some on the coco/perlite from the plants I've pulled, so we'll see how it goes eating dead roots.

It's from Bunnings by the way, aussies. I also found some Chitosan there! Going to give that a try next. You spray this stuff on yo plants and it makes the plant think it's getting massively attacked by fungus or something. Probably sounds dodgy and I suck at explaining but look it up, it sounds rad! It initiates in the plant a Systemic Acquired Resistance. Don't panic, its organic :tiphat:

Still trying to dry & weigh the earlier harvests so no smoke reports yet... but it is good shit! lol

PS: anyone grow hempy in heavy rainfall conditions? Does it work?

Heheh! Thanks Pedro. We're back to hot and dry now. It sucks!

The deep chunk cross hermied in veg - strange. It was just after the full moon, which happened to be an eclipse. The last hermie thing happened just after the full moon too.

Just got a really cool battery charger - still need a genny.

The pond cleaner doesn't seem to be hurting. I just use it at the pond rate, think that's ok?

I got 5 oz from PK 1, and 7 and 3/4 each from PK 2 and VB 3, about 6 from VB 4 pulled early, only a few from VB 2 which hermied first, and I should break a half pound on VB 5. VB 1 I'm still trimming, it's a trimmers nightmare and the buds look big but they're airy/foxtaily. Will probably get 5 oz or so.

Pretty lacklustre overall but I did what I wanted to do - find some keeper cuts and grow some quality smoke, and generally test the system. It works! So yeah, see you next time :good:

VB 1 harvest:

A VB 1 in flower in veg :tiphat:

Top44 x Big bud (#3) - 10 gal smart hempy:

The Trainwreck x Princess Diesel (#1) moved up to a 10 gal smart pot:

Some PKs chillin' in hempies mostly:

And I've been looking for years for the perfect seed storage units - those pill things old people use! Perfect:

Those go into a larger vacuum flask with some rice or something and then bury it I guess. No fridge :D

Peace  Next harvests will be the organic hempies - 3x T44xBB - yummy! and one (Leb47xPTK) x Erdpurt which I made seeds with. Then the rest follows, I don't even know - it just runs itself, pumping out weed :dance013:

Thanks krull, same to you :)

420ish, I only have the one so far, but it seems to be working ok. All my plants got really flushed out and starved from so much rain, so I made some errr, "Osmocote socks" which is just some osmocote rolled up in some fabric and buried a little, around the plant. Osmocote is pretty complete, I have a couple of plants growing in perlite hempies with just osmocote, a tablespoon of soft rock dust, and I usually add a very light dose of a PK booster, or powdered seaweed to the water.

I'll get some nice pics for next time but there's not a lot in flower right now. Take care

Thanks mang! I just wish I could keep them watered better. Here are some piccies :)

The poor old Top44xBBs, lotta rain/mould damage:

The Trainwreck x Princess Diesel:

Colloidal Silver - finally got some pollen! :woohoo:

(the stuff in the pic is actually a test with rainwater, I didn't use that stuff)

Ciao

Hey scrubs.

Fine looking cola's, a shame they suffered from mold.
Thought about making an "umbrella" out of clear plastic or something? Just when heavy rain is expected.
Love your project mate

Cheers amigo, a lot has been happening! I got flooded out and had to move them, and now moved them again. I've been thinking about a canopy actually. I did some experiments spraying h2o2 for the mould and it kinda showed promise but not really, lol.

Hey, is CaO (calcium oxide) okay to supply calcium in a hydroponic nutrient? Otherwise is there some other way to only supply ca without any other elements? Thanks for any infos. Stay safe!

Cal mag and other cal products are used by hydro growers all the time so I think you should be fine.

Thanks bud, but I'm under the impression cal mag products have nitrogen in them. (Calcium nitrate) which is not going to work for my cunning plan. I'm gonna keep researching but if anyone knows, let me know please!

The saltmix excel program from cannastats lists CaO as a source of calcium but when I looked it up, it seems kinda dangerous/risky/volatile. Maybe I just got the wrong idea.

Good morning Scrub,

Over in D9's ppk thread here he talks about calcium chloride as not having enough nitrogen for his purposes.

All this chemistry stuff is way beyond me but D9 might be able to sched some light.

Lovely plants man,
OO

Thanks bro, I will look through that. I actually found a way to make calcium nitrate work, so I'll look for it now. I recently discovered the cannastats calculator and it's the best thing ever. Anyone using hydro nutes or additives should try to work it out (it took me a while).

My plants look like crap at the moment and everythings full of mould. Bleh. Just been getting lots of clones going in pre-ferted coco so the rain looks after them. It's an adventure. :)

Whaaddd uppp Scrubbss. Been a while! I finally got a house with a garage, a light, and some clones. Plus a big ass growing area. No more Rubbermaids. hahah. Stoked to see you seem to be pulling some fat weights from those outdoors. A little different than the micro. Hahah. I got a Super Silver Haze, Querkle (Space Queen x Purple Kush) and a Purple Diesel vegging right now under a 600W MH. I'm looking forward to the Querkle. I'll post up a new thread soon here. I think I'm going to go get more clones today. I'll let you know how that goes. Later dogg!

Sup dudes! Thanks Blues, Ray. That's fantastic to hear you moved up Ray! Didn't get much off the TWxPD sadly. Weeks of unending rain has brought my grow to a standstill, and it was even going in reverse for a while there.

I didn't post anything, but a week or two ago I lost like 20 veg plants, some that I'd been vegging for a long long time. Remember the smart pot hempy? It's gone as are a few similar sized ones, and many 1ft high clones in new smart pots. I only saved the biggest plant I'd ever vegged, a TWxPD which was too much sodden weight for the flood to take I guess.

Yup a flood. I couldn't move them from that gully, which is often a raging torrent on any given day. I could only move them to the safest possible spot in the gully, which I deemed safe enough, but what happened was a huge 20cm round log fell out of a tree, smashing the lights down in the rain, and diverting the whole flow straight through my pots.

I had a total of 2 plants (PK 1 & 2) in flower which were even sicker than the TWxPD, which in itself was so sick it wouldn't survive 2 weeks of flower. They all had various problems, they all seem to be controlled now. The TWxPD had a very advanced case of PM. The PKs had invisible demons eating the grow tips so you would have a "blank" plant if untreated and they had no buddage after a few weeks flower time. Le sigh. So anyway, nobody owes me nothing so it's all good. Shit does indeed happen, and usually at the worst timing, so really, this is no surprise or anything. It's just life.

I'm looking forward to the future now! :woohoo: Out of like 100 or more seeds planted, I got 2 up. And 1 died. Okay hmmmm. It's a super skunk and is actually the healthiest seedling I've grown in a while. Then the other day, I threw out a pile of that Leb47x seed I made because if my nicely stored seeds didn't germinate, what hope has this seed got? I'd been lazy and left the whole Leb seed harvest unsealed in a damp environment for weeks/months and figured it was useless. I could even see mould on some of the seeds.

Threw 'em on the compost sack, and whaddya know? So basically my next run is all the seedlings of the Leb/whatever-it-was, and a super skunk. All coco, mostly GH MaxiGro and a calmag, and no lights so far, but I'm expecting to put them under light soon. Gave some earlier to a friend and they flowered almost immediately @ 10cm tall.

I picked up the MaxiGro/MaxiBloom dry 1 parts, they are really cool! This is the easiest way to mix nutes ever. Cheap too, although the aus price is like double, as usual. $30 for 1000 grams. Most people use 1 tsp (~5.9gm) per gallon, but that gives you a ridiculous too high ec for me. I think I add 4 tsp per 5 gallons to give me 1.5ec. The Maxi series is not reknowned for it's low heavy metal content, so it's beneficial to use a minimal dose.

Also got the GH Flora range to try out. Also got enough stuff to make my own nutes now but there's not a lot of demand for it, with all these GH nutes and no plant matter to dump 'em on. I will get some experience with the GH stuff, then have a better idea of what to shoot for in my own formulas.

Sorry for no pics, just wanted to fill you all in. Have a great day! :tiphat:

And please try out NuteMashUp which I posted on the nutrient forum. That shit took me weeks and only one guy checked it out, lol. Peace.
