Lift from deputy leads to jail, marijuana charge
Originally published March 03, 2011

A Germantown man is being held without bail at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center on drug charges after accepting a ride from a sheriff's deputy. At about 10:20 p.m. Tuesday, Deputy First Class Anthony Blare of the Frederick County Sheriff's Office responded to a call about someone skateboarding down the road in the area of Md. 355 and Md. 80, according to charging documents filed in Frederick County District Court.
Blare found Jonathan Alan Frye, 18, walking along the road carrying a skateboard near Md. 355 and Big Woods Road. According to thedocuments, Blare asked Frye where he was headed and if everything was OK.
Frye said was headed to Montgomery County, where he was scheduled to be in court Wednesday. Blare offered to drive Frye to a gas station at the county line, and Frye accepted, the documents state.
Blare then asked Frye if he was carrying any weapons, and Frye said he had a pair of scissors in his left front pocket. When Blare asked Frye to turn around so he could pat him down, Frye said "I don't want to get in trouble," the documents state.
As he was being patted down, Frye told Blare that he had a pipe in his left back pocket. Blare found the pipe, and a further search revealed a bulge in Frye's left sock, to which Frye said "that's the weed I just bought," according to the documents.
Blare found a bag containing nine smaller bags of suspected marijuana, and Frye was arrested and taken to the detention center. He is charged with possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and possession with intent to distribute.
Frye was scheduled for a resolution conference Wednesday in Montgomery County, where he faces charges of robbery and theft under $1,000, but he is still being held at the detention center, according to the jail's holding unit.

You say this, but when a cop ask you if you want a ride and you say no, it is just going to lead to the same result. Cops don't do strangers a favor for no reason.

This actually sounds to me like some hick redneck cop running a skater of town.
Ride to the county line???
I bet the kid didn't really have a choice about whether or not he was going to accept that ride.
Sounds like he got hassled and shook down by the cop for nothing more then being a kid on a skate board, probably had long hair too.

Think about it, you know how the pigs are.

I don't know about you guys, but everytime I've been minding my own business, like this kid was, and a cop comes up to me wanting to know where I'm going, and if everything is "OK" they were there to fuck with me, and didn't give two shits if everything was actually "ok" with me or not.

And whose side of the story is the article based on?
The cops.
I bet the kid got railroaded by some power tripping pig with nothing better to do then hassle/bully a kid on a skate board.
