First Outdoor Grow

That's a BIG latitude range... Got got anything that finishes outdoors around Oct.
If you're closer to lat 50, then it should finish around Sept. Pop a couple of autos to have secure smoke
If you're closer to lat 30, you can take it to Nov - Dec. I wouldn't pop autos at these lats, but rather sativas. It's just personal pref.

Anything should do well at that lat really. If this is your first gro, my suggestion would be not to use too much money on seeds, try something like HFH.
If sun is very intense were you're, then don't expose them directly under the sun at an early age, but progresively.

Bogkush1, you can grow about anything that finishes by late October and that covers about 90% of strains.. Grow regular strains, not auto's. I dont mean to suggest that auto's are bad, its just that there arent any as potent as a good full season strain and the yeild is far less. Auto's are generally grown by growers above about 48 N because their season is so short, but theres no reason for you to have to grow them.
Since its your first grow, if i were you i would go a good quality feminized seed.
Paradise seeds, Sensi star fems ogkush1. After years of being grown and winning prizes, its proven its stellar status and potency, finishes by Oct 1 and easy to grow and pure ass kicking..
Blue Hash from Dianfem is a good strain as is their Power kush
Most really potent sativa's finish a little later, but you can grow them at your lattitude. Some get huge and yield a couple lbs. I grow Armegeddon from Homegrown Fantaseeds and its potent as hell with a massive yield that finishes Oct 25. Jack Herrer is as potent as weed gets - late oct. There are several good ones.
Blue haze from HGF is elitel late oct.
