So this is where?

I was only 3 so I cant really comment on how I was dressed,
my dad had taped on cassette tape the entire TV soundtrack of the mission and landing.
That's the only thing I remember about it, listening to the tapes years later, ha ha..
That was cool that he did that though.

Hey hey hey, yall are puttin the horse before the cart friends. Bob Wills is still the King.

I will admit something right here and now though, it gladens my heart to see this many Country stoners in one place. I expected there was only one, two or three of us at the most. I've been country my whole life, none of my friends love the leaf.

Seems a country boy can survive after all.

We can survive, even in the city! I am 31, so I wasnt around for the moon landing. But I feel I have a lot more in common with some of you older guys because of my upbringing. Hope yall dont mind me lurking in here all the time! I was raised in the middle of nowhere SC, on 1000 acres, been picking guitar since I was 12, hunting, fishing, campin, and 4x4ing my whole life.

Oh, we dont mind. In fact we need you "youngsters" to pop in every once in a while to remind our senile selves that this thread is here!!!

Gracious.

Your welcome! I been in a band where I live now for going on 6 years, 5 ppl other than me, the youngest is 46. I do plenty of reminding old guys around here lol. Our banjo player is looking for his picks when half the time they are on his hand.

1000 acres............thats a BIG ASS playground wooderson!

Yup it was! Sad now, my dad sold the farm and retired at the beach, most of it is neighborhoods now believe it or not. Used to tell my Dad when I was a kid I couldnt wait to move to the city, because I hated chores! Funny, live in the city now and long for where I grew up.

i was 17 in 69....play around on an old acoustic guitar and i'm about as country as can be....love hank 1 and 2....also a big dillon fan..

I was seven when we walked on the moon for the first time. I remember watching it at my cousins house.

The generation gap has been sneaking up on me for the last few years, too.

The hardest part was trying to play your favorite song over and over on the damn 8 track. Used to drive my grandparents crazy with BTO Taking Care of Business over and over.
Or having your tape player eat your brand new cassette. Or still trying to listen to the same record that is so warped that you watch it go up and down as it spins around.

Moon landing? We watched it in school. That was a BIG moment....Not the moon landing, but having a tv in your classroom.

Hanging behind the gym/in the woods next to the school getting ozoned on a really good doobie, then heading down to the local convenience store (7/11 or High's in this area) or pizza shop to play pinball and solve the munchies.
Edit; I just noticed how funny that the one chain of convenience stores was called Highs, and was a favorite of the freaks back in the day.

Damn BK your correct.
I remember watching some space thing on tv in the classroom, now I can't remember what it was. Shit!! it was a splashdown not a landing on the moon. Hmmmmm.....too many bowls between then and now, especially now!. Lets see 69 would of made me 11. Had one thing on my mind then......getting on the Schwinn and riding.

On a side note: I did just save alot of money with Geico.

i was ten when they did the moonwalk way before michael jackson and if my ass was hanging out of my pants it probably would have had my old mans foot stuck in it .i think its funny watching these young kids walk bowlegged so their pants stay up.i know a grown man in his late 30 early 40s who wears his pants sagging if he ever walked behind himself he would see how stupid he actually looks hahaha as with most of the saggers.some need to wipe better too! hahahaha
