What's new

Stadium......

laylow

Have been building a stadium style room 2 weeks and I'm there, was intending on growing trees heath style but the transition from flat Sog to vert stadium was easier and my strains are Indica Dom so wouldnt be appropriate for trees

Few questions for the pros and trust me I have read Northen Farmers thread and all you guys who have stadium grows down to it in this forum to name you wall would be crazy but I have been lurking....

I normally grow in coco, 4.5L pots full canna range, 16 per square meter, under 600's, veg for 2 weeks, then flip and 2 weeks in strip all lower shit I.e. Stems, leaves and anything that's not going to produce proper buds

Are you asleep yet? Lol :cathug:

What I need to know is how I should veg for this vert grow, there isn't much info on how long or what method people have found best, I know it's strain dependent but I have chimera C4, Armagedon and Pre 2000 Chronic x Rhino

The chronic rhino will stretch the most then the C4 and the army is the shortest

Should I veg vert I am at the moment have them in 1/2L pots with 600MH was going to give them 2 weeks in the 1/2L pots and then upgrade them into 10L Airpots for a further 2 weeks

does that sound to much, perhaps only 1 week in the airpots before flipping them?

Any and all advice from the guys in the know is appreciated

What are the dimensions of your room?

I find it best to veg vertical because the plants shape themselves nicely towards the light, but I know others that go horizontal during veg with good results, whatever works best for you I suppose would be the right answer.

How many plant's are you running? Got any pics?

Best of luck to you, hope you have some pics :D:D

Room is 15ft x 11ft but stadium has been made smaller so I can water pots from behind, 4 rows each side not 100% on how many plants yet.....

No pic's as of yet wish I took step by steps now :bashhead:

Thanks for the reply. :ying:

i've found that with limited numbers youll run into empty canopy space if you dont train them like the goal post on a football field...

i gave my plants bout two weeks veg in vert before flip so the were really ready to grow like that... its pretty important imho..

if you got numbers id still veg vert makes it really easy too figure out what to trim off as the back side will naturally have greater internodal length and weaker branches...

Hey who thanks for dropping in, is it not worth rotating the plants if I'm going to lob the backs off?

I was getting .75 gpw in my flat garden so I need for it to be at least as good as that I have added more light so it should be better come harvy time anyways...

I suppose if I can get 2.oz per plant I will be happy and it will be worth the change...

Here's a few pic's to give you an idea of where im up too :artist:

As you can see the top lights still have there shades and the bottom dont as the tops are quite a bit away from the top plants so the 600's with the shade should be up to the job now

there are going to be 4 rows per side, one row on the floor the second one ison the first shelf, these will be lit by the bottom unshaded lights. The top 2 shelves will be lit from the shaded 600's

vegging not only with 3 x600MH bulbs but chucked the T5's over too why not lol

as i normally use 4.5L pots i have to buy some new bigger ones and was looking at either 6L or 10L Airpots

If i use the 6L i can have 18 per shelf, if i use the 10L i can only have 15 per shelf, more plants vs more root space.....

any opinions before i make a decision.

Holy crap you got welding goggles to wear in their ...very nice setup!

Na seriously I should where something tho, maybe i should where my polarized Oakleys as the M\H bulbs def give me dots even if I'm not looking at them.....

wow sick set up

Thanks GOT DANK it's getting there :)

Yeah I was toting with just going bare bulb but I don't think it would have penetrated the canopy well enough sideways let alone downward and to be honest I had the 6's sitting there so going out and buying 1000's wasn't really an option......

The pot size situation is doing my head in as it's 144 x 6L vs 120 x 10L

That's 24 more plants at the cost of 4L of coco per plant.....

One can roughly estimate (talking about maximum capacity) ~15-20 grams per a liter of coco. Then again i've heard that airpots dry out faster. Considered blumats? 144 x 6L airpots plus blumats would mean a serious killer harvest!

Not considered Blumats as I hand water this amount of plants before and if I had to water every day then I don't really mind am more than up for it, maybe in the future but this early on, on a first run I don't want to get complacent, thinking they are ok I want to make sure I have to tend to them every day....

nice dude

thanks bluedreams :)

what is up with those hoods anyway ....

cheers

Hey Red thanks for stopping in man don't be jealous dude just get some more bulbs hehee :)

Yeah the hoods, As I said above I'm only on 6's and I don't think they would cut it being in the middle and I got the filter and all sorts of ducting ect up top so putting bulbs either side of all the crap just worked out, and if I'm not using the back of the bulbs I may swell try and reflect a bit back :D

Do you think collesiums would be better for my room size than what I have done here? I pretty much maxed this room out I would say, it's 7ft tall and remember I have all the ducting and filter ect to work around....

well im sure you can archive the number you're looking for going straight vert.

7ft isnt a lot of head room to work but with still some room there to work ... i ran barebulb so there isnt any ducting, i do have scrubbers sitting on one side of the room just to scrubber the air,,,

my temp when lights off are in the 60's and they lights on the temp are hoovering around 92 - 100 ,, ladies love its!

if you can run sealed + c02 i dont thnk you're going to need to run that many bulbs but then again if you have the power to do so why not right?

i found that the more simple set up you keep with vert, the easier it is for you to learn the system and how you plants react to it ... and make better change next round, i must went through at least 5 different set up for vert with in the last year and probably more then 10 runs with vert so far with my own and setting up for friends..... i found that if you have the space ... bare bulb collesium and co2 is really the way to go ... i have helped a few people move from stadium to collesium and they didnt even bother looking back

stadium is very good if you have 2 or 3 bulbs, but once you go over 5 bulbs and hanging them side by side close toghether it is really a waste, dont ask me how i know hahaha

cheers,
red.

i would do the same if i have 600's

It's took me a while to get my shit dialled in with the flat garden and never used C02 before seemed like a lot of headache I like to move a lot of air round my girls and with the setup I have now I'm confident even in the summer with the new ducting setup blasting fresh air in at 8 dif points I should be able to keep my shit together

With the 7ft Hight issue it's not so bad with the way I have design the room as each girl will get 20+ inches of head room, not that much for sativas but my indic dom plants will love it and even if they stretch a bit more as long as they are not on the top shelf they can grow a bit more

Just have to see how we get on this run I built the other side of the stadium thisarvo and it's so tight in there now and shit loads more work haha i must be mad....
