The 10 Biggest Mistakes Growers Make

I don't care if the fertilizer bottle says to use it in seedling phase, don't do it, know matter what kind of stuff you bought (talking about soil, idk about all your fancy hydronautics)

i like Moots number 11. did you not see it!!! It rocks!!!!! Fk all the nutes, just use mg and leave all these 'magic dirt mixes' for other people like me to try over and over every which one of them only to get SHIT compared to the first f'ing plants i grew three or four years ago in mg! want organic, mg makes organic now. Hey i SALUTE all you mofo's that grow great plants and spend hours mixing this and mixing that but i tried and failed, the Torture! KISS NEVER FAILS!!!! That and "try new genetics". best advice i ever had, getting rid of my Dirt! and my Shit Popcorn producing Strain. UUUUUUUUUUGH!

Rule #12 - Before you waste everybody's time asking dumb questions, go and read the stickies in the section most likely to have the information you seek. Then filter the list of threads by # of views. The ones that have been viewed 50,000 times are more likely to have answers you need than the ones with 200. If you read through the ENTIRE THREAD (i.e. invest some of your own time to learn something) you will learn much in a little time.

Read threads and when some idea stands out to you (because multiple people have endorsed it, and you went and read THEIR threads and they got good results) take notes on that idea for reference later. When you get conflicting ideas, read more threads, develop your own notions and then experiment to test your conclusions.

Or you can just do whatever your friends think they remember hearing about one time and see how that works out for you.

Rule #13 Non-growers are retarded. Don't listen to their advice. They'll smoke some shit I grew in dirt under a CFL and say "Damn!!! That's some serious hydro shit!"

probably nowhere near my biggest mistake, but one of the more recent - not recognizing the difference between being dialed in, and being in a rut (or that they can be the same thing)

more of a philosophical thing than "Don't piss on your plants", or something...but getting to a point in your routine where you have no space or capacity for something new (medium, strains, technique, whatever) you're probably missing out on something

Hey i didn´t make it , i just copy and paste

but i like all disagree u found on it

have fun

You should give credit to the person who posted this then. It will also save you the heartache of the 'I disagree with this or that crowd.'
Overall a good list.

New rule to add:
Don't try to do what someone else is doing step for step. 99% of the time it doesn't work out. Find your own path, learn from your mistakes.

daheadies

poppin' outta control
The bag seed rule is the only one I dont agree with. If it wasnt for a hermie seed we wouldnt have Chemdog or OG Kush available to the public, If it wasnt for accidental pollination we wouldnt have Sour Diesel, or my Bubble Cheese (accidental bubba kush cross) made by Big Buddha Seeds...
I and many friends have planted many bag seeds and are rarely disappointed.. Only a few "true keepers", but rarely is it dog shit.. one of the keepers I have found is a purple phenotype of chemdog (from a majorly hermed out bag of chemdog herb I bought). Smell and taste are through the roof with chemdog, and its purple! Sure there were a few seeds that did turn out herm's, but it was worth it. Even with quality seeds your likely to come across herm's eventually, its just part of poppin seeds...

This is a TERRIBLE RULE! DONT TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY! DONT TRY AND RE-INVENT THE WHEEL, TAKE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN FROM SUCCESSFUL GROWERS AND TRY AND DUPLICATE WHAT THEY DO. Its when you start fucking around and experimenting that shit gets fucked up.
-Wiseone, I agree, because of varying water hardness and pH, as well as environment, when people follow the exact same recipe's things turn out differently, and not always perfectly; however, DONT ENCOURAGE NEW GROWERS to try and figure things out for themselves. This will only lead to being fooled by advertising and people at grow shops wanting to sell certain products. Thats how people wind up using Advanced Nutrients as their entire feeding regimen.

PS- IM SPEAKING FROM EXPERIENCE! I made a crazy formula w/ everything I could have ever needed for a plant to grow and just wound up over doing it. NEW GROWERS- CHECK OUT THE K.I.S.S. (Keep it simple stoner) thread, or try to find out what your buddy uses exactly for his SUCCESSFUL grow. Again, the more alike your enviro is to your friends, the more similar the product will turn out.

RE-Read the rule!!!!
Don't do what they are doing step for step. You can't replicate their conditions in your environment. Learn from then, but don't do everything they are doing to a t. You rarely get the same results.
And if people didn't 'experiment' we would not be where we are now days when it comes to growing.
In other words. Comprehend what you read before attacking something/someone.

Overall good advice for newbies, but as it has been said before, if you took it from somewhere else, best to give credits. Don't let me get started with complicated words like "plagiarism" :scripture: :spank:

Overwatering is common, sure, we've all done it.

No seeds from bagseed? BS, else we wouldn't have C99 and others :canabis: I guess this relates more to imports, like trying to grow seeds from Thai or Malawi at a Northen lat.

On the outdoors thing, disagree. Planting in June will not give you bigger plants that flower earlier, if so, many great outdoor growers here wouldn't be putting a show each year before June. This rule completely misses the point, which is about the soil temp and root dev't.

Chaos you must be a VERY patient man! :tiphat:

Just a contribution :smoke:

Take care of your plants as individuals. If someone grows same strains as you do, the plants needs might not be same.
