hey bro, things have been a bit stressful.
The house we are growing in got some flashing replaced on the roof.that last lot of rain we got last week found its way in and flooded the house.we have had insurance people and carpet dryers in and about. Not ideal but things are locked down tight,no smell or sign of a grow etc but it still sucks having people in the house, also a builder is coming in to fix the ceiling.its lucky our mate is the landlord and is cool.So with the battle against high temps(got an aircon unit the other day)and spider mites plus the water damage things have been all go.Honestly,I just want to get this abortion of a grow over and done with.five weeks to go.will get some pics tomorrow.peace.:)

these bitches are big...
can you get some more lights in there?
i don't know about the 600s penetrating deep enough... maybe a screen would of been beneficial.

good work!

awesome grow man, how many LBS will u expect in the end?
Also, how did u get them so bushy? do you have to tie the colas to something later if they fall over?

cheers guys.:)

I really don't know about yield,Im thinking maybe half a # each?
I just let them grow,no topping or training at all.I think the vertical lights help bush the plant out naturally. The branches are already starting to droop.got some string and tacks to hold things up.
4 weeks to go.:jump:

Hey there swampy bro! Looking MEAN bro! I've never seen half # plants in the flesh and it's not something us kiwi's do normally. I see alot of it in the states where the medical guys get plant limits rather than yield limits (this may be incorrect I'm not up to date on US laws). Good to see! My last batch was quart pound plants and they were way smaller than yours!

Good to see you back with some good pics. Cant wait to see where this goes!

Take Care. Hope all this weather drama in NZ hasnt hit you too hard! Welly's been shit, but then...It always is!

about 10 days to go.
one of the plants died the other day.was completely infested with mites.it pretty much died overnight, never seen anything like it.pulled it and got 6 ounces off it.
the other plants are looking much better although they have some mite problems too but should make it to harvest.
will get some more pics tonight.:)

well, everything is cut and dried, sorry i didn't get any last pics.
all up 52 ounces.the plant that died was 6 ounces so the remaining 5 averaged just over 9 ounces each.
this really was a shithouse grow and im glad its over.
one thing i did notice with vert was that even the bottom buds which are normally quite spindly were very solid.
im hooked on vert
bigger and better next run
peace.:)

This seems to be the general consensus. I am about to make the vert switch myself and am excited. It seems the plants are spaced far from the lamps, did you account for this spacing when building the room or did you work with what space you had? I am going to be using 600's in cool tubes, I was planning on having the cool tubes about 15" from the plants....what did you have?

Do you do any fan leaf plucking normally throughout the grow? What about trimming the smaller branches and nodes?

hi.
I just had to work around the room.
my plants were normally 12'' from the bulbs.I only had one instance of burn when they got too close.Bare bulbs.
I hardly pruned during this grow.Just dead or dying leaves or any big ones that were blocking other branch tips, but fuk all really.
The main pain in my arse(apart from the mite infestation, high heat and house leaking)was tying the branches up when they started budding.I had string up the yingyang.the branches get very heavy.I mite try some sort of tomato cage next time or maybe stakes.
im never growing in the middle of summer again.lol

Yeah, the summer sucks. Another member told me that he attaches plant yo yo's to the tomato cages he uses. That sounds like a solution to having tons of strings hanging from the ceiling. I think i will be trying his method in an upcoming setup. I used just tomato cages before and they didn't work great by themselves but with some tying, I think it will work just fine.
