sorry for the late update.
i ordered a bottle of botanigard online, and it didn't have any instructions for hydroponic usage. so i called the 800 number on the bottom, and talked to a guy there.
he suggested basically what i read online.
make up a solution of botanigard and water, 10:1 ratio, and put each plant in that for 1 hour. the botanigard only stays alive for 24 hours after it's mixed with water.
i had a small 2 gallon bucket, so i used that to mix the botanigard solution in, the botanigard is expensive, like 80 bucks for a quart, so i wanted to use a little bucket.
i put an airstone in the bucket of botanigard solution, and put each plant in there for 1 hour, rotating em around, 1 plant at a time.
a few days later, i only see a couple bugs, so i washed the buckets and plants roots to knock off all the bugs, and i haven't seen 'em since.
so, the outcome is buy botanigard for root aphids.

Get that Hygrozyme outta there. It will do you nothing but harm especially in dwc.

Those are root aphids FOR SURE!

One application of Bayer Tree and Shrub, 7-10ml/gal, and a follow-up drench with Azamax is what has worked for me in the past. Now I hit everything with Bayer Tree and Shrub when I flip to 12-12 and that keeps them away.

These are evil little bugs.

Merit 75 is what you need. I run e&f and put it in my Rez and watered for 45 min. Then dumped the reservoirs. No harm done. It's in the long thread about root aphids and i even posted the application rates. They've been gone for good. Active ingredient is imidacloprid. Same stuff that's in frontline or advantage for dogs. Trust me just get the merit and be done with it.
