I have been a consumer for 30 years and finaly decided enough. I have built cabinet 5 feet tall 2 foot deep and 3 feet wide. It is insulated with 1 inch highly compressed styrfoam It has 3 coats of flat white paint on the inside.I have a converted stanly blower for my DIY carbon filter and exhaust, I have a 4 inch fan with 130 cfm for fresh air intake. Thats it for now,What I am asking for are suggestions on what to put in the cab other then what I already have.Whats my next step? I want to hydroponic.I found a place on the web that sales a bigginers kit.It has a beginner flouasent lamp with both spetrums,a complete 6 plant bubbler system,all for 100 bucks I can always upgrade.need to be cheap ,fast and get some results for now.Need to grow on a shoe string for the 1st time..Thanks.

I would peice it together yourself oldsmoke, I bet you can do it for right around that 100 dollar mark, if simple is what you desire. Dont expect huge yeilds, check out the t5's if you wish to go the flouresent route, htg has got them for a fair price. IMO dont bother , go with a hps for around the same price. Get a light and good airflow in your cab then decide on a method of growing that will work best. And read man! tons of great info in the beginers area.

for a first grow flouros arent that bad,, but any package like that is thinking about mother plants or something, you will need higher watts to make use of hydro or soil in box that big,,,, you dont want 6 plants in there either imo you wont get more smokable product at the end (using flouros) based on how many plants you grow unless you pick some pure indi to grow or something,,like deep chunk or some other affie for example,,
for example if you buy 1(or 2) oxypot(cheap single plant bubbler system) and 1 400 watter and you'l get 5(-10) oz if you get the hydro right and get a canopy,, which isnt straight forward either you have to watch the ph of the solution in the bubbler (and as you apply it) with a ph pen and the nutrient levels with a ec/cf meter all the time,, or its going to be a real steep learning curve,,
2 plants under flouros (100-200 watts ??) in a bubbler would take really advanced growers to make even half work if im honest,, compared to what you can do in a space like that,, any flouros are perfect for vegging though obviously,,
i personally would put 3 girls in soil and 600 in that space and get around 12 zips give or take
there is alot that can go wrong and soil or coco can make like alot easier to begin growing in,,, there is so much to learn,,,

Thanks for the advice .It will be given alot of thought. I'm thinking now,Lost at Sea" that 3 plants in soil and a good 600 light might be the best way to go for a rookie like myself.Just get 3 planter pots and some potting soil with no fertilizer added I here. And a decent 600 , and away we go.Is there a good place to buy the 600 grow light.Thanks for all your help guys,.Also how big should my pots be and what kind of soil do I need and nutriants.What is a good beginner strain to plant,I would like something that isn't super stinky.
ok good im glad you saw the sense in starting simple but with a decent light,,, that will save you alot of time and effort learning uneccessary lessons for a beginner imo,,,
if there is a grow shop near you anywhere then just the budget 600w kit will be fine,,, the cheap ballasts lose efficiency faster but are good for years anyway,,,, at a grow shop they have pre made soil which isnt that expensive and is tailor suited to growing ganja making life easier,,, you can make your own soil mix but your adding potential errors to the grow tbh,, online shops work as well obviously
i see alot of beginners use their own soil mixes and suffer for it,,, its not simple to get as good a job as the big companies do,, though it is possible to make a better mix,,
you want 11-15 litre pots for flowering stage and 4 litre pots for vegging in for the first 4-6 weeks till they sex,, or buy feminized seeds (i dont like em but for beginners it again makes life easier)
nutrient wise in soil you only really need flowering nutes to use from after the first few weeks of flowering onwards if your soil is good enough,,,
getting something that isnt super stinky is a problem since most things fall into that catagory,,,
since you are going for the idea of 3 under a 600w you can grow almost any kind of cannabis really apart from some sativas,,, so it depends on your seed budget,, you give me a price range and ill advise some stuff,, nothern lights is considered one of the less smelly lines but id ge bored of NL after a couple of joints,,,

Thanks again lost at sea.You have already been very helpful.I'm thinking good seeds are probably worth spending alittle money on.50 bucks or under for feminized seeds.Is that crazy? I don't need many.Hell I don't know? I good feeling after smoked and simple to grow, is that wanting to much.Thanks again.
