Hey , how many people got long hair?

I am growing it again, its about 5 inches long right now and i hope it will grow nice and long again for the summer...

Anyho, last year while touring Europe i bought some French shampoo and conditioner with MANGO oils , called KLORANE.

To be honest i liked shampoo even more than conditioner. It made my beach dried hair nice and moist.

I went to pharmacy a week ago hoping to find something nice for my hair all they got is "TV shampoos/conditioners" like Loreal, tresame, garnier and all kind sof others... AND they got "designer shampoo" section where all the designers sell their branded products... i bought some designer shampoo , forgot its name, never heard of it but it said that it mositurises weak light hair...

I tried it 2 times already and i cant seem to find any changes with my hair....

I did a little search online and managed to find mangoe Klorane shampoo and conditioner, so i ordered those. Only 10 bucks each.

And then i talked with my friend from EU and she recommended me a product with ALMOND oils.... so i did a search and found some expensive brands... i ordered 3 different ones, this one:

http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlp...-Let-It-Be-Cherry-Almond-Leave-In-Conditioner

being most expensive.

I will try them out and report here.

I have long hair, but I let the wife worry about details like shampoos and conditioners.

5 inches? LOL my beard is longer than that.
I, too, use some sort of natural stuff with almond oil in it. Conditioner too.
Hit up your local whole food/organic/co-op spot and you'll find some great stuff.

I'd been thinking about NOT growing my hair, but the implications scared me, so I decided that even if I shave my head, I'll prolly keep growing my hair.......

OK I want to explain to you long-hairs how to wash it.
First of all. Nothing is supposed to stay in your hair after you wash it.
Again. NOTHING is supposed to stay in your hair after you wash it.
No product marketed as leave in is doing anything but make you greasy.
If you are using conditioner STOP.
"but fabvariousk if I don't put grease in my hair I can't run a comb threw it!"
Bullshit you can't comb it because it is still dirty and full of hair crap.
Try this:
I cannot wash my hair without a comb. I don't even try.
If you can get a brush/comb threw your hair when it is wet then you should be able to when dry. Get the lightest shampoo you can find. Do not use conditioner.
Use a liberal amount so you have a fine lather. That lather is the key to breaking the hair bonds. Then make sure your shower is hot and you have good pressure.
Carefully using the comb. Slowly comb out the shampoo. Do not rake.
If you cannot get the comb thru then concentrate the hot water on that spot untill you can easily get it thru. It may take you several minutes of rinsing but you will soon be able to comb your hair and you will notice how clean it feels possibly for the first time.
Washing your hair is actually rinsing it. So most of your time should be spent getting rid of whatever is in it. If you don't believe you can get away with out using conditioner try this. I know this is not about weed growing but it is something I picked up over the years and wish I would have known as a greasy long-haired kid.

I've been using Johnson's Baby Shampoo for 50+ years. Strips all the grease out with no residue. Good stuff.

BTW my hair is past my elbows, not just 5 inches!

But how do I tie these strings on my shoes???

I'd like to point out that there are many different hair types. One hair care recipe for all doesn't work. Some folks have very curly thick hair and a comb wet or dry isn't an option unless you love sporting a serious unmanageable frizz fro. ;)

I'd suggest to learn how to care for your hair type.
My personal feelings about dreads, by the way, is that if you can grow em right, more power to ya. Oh, and I miss all the happy hippie longhairs, but most of all I miss their peace and love movement.

Peace

for inexpensive curly hair shampoo-that will leave the brittlest of hair supple.Creme of Nature ~ brand (for the shampoo's)

Liss Ultime deep treatment by L'oreal- try it but be forewarned you will be addicted. having long hair the container only lasts 2 or 3 applications. But it's the glossy, healthy and supple appearance that will keep you addicted.

Kerastase products too

I used to have really thick, wavy, frizzy hair too, until I came to realize that shampoo is bullshit and has been fucking up people's hair ever since it was invented. Our skin naturally produces oil that keeps the hair and skin looking good and healthy. When you use shampoo it cleans your hair, yes, but it also strips out all the oil, causing your hair to look/act like shit. It also causes your skin to ramp up oil production, resulting in oiliness and greasiness if you don't keep shampooing. Conditioner is no substitute for this natural oil.

The solution to all this is a) use shampoo once a week or so to clean your hair, no more frequently unless needed. b) After shampooing, apply JOJOBA OIL to your hair. The jojoba plant produces an oil which is extremely similar to your body's natural oil, much closer than any other oil. Your hair will look and feel much better and the uncontrollable frizziness will be gone. c) You can (and should) also apply it to your skin after washing and it will leave your skin looking and feeling much healthier. For those of us prone to dry skin and psoriasis, this solves the problem.
