also if the tubes in the splitter leak, just use sealing around the outside of the tube, the tube should be able to fit directly in the plastic splitter

the theory behind light particles and enclosed areas basically dictates
area^density of light = constant number (x)
x equals light density of that area
you can square it for bigger rooms
the point is when you shoot a light in a dark room, the actual darkness gets "excited" into light, but light already exists there, its called darkness - just another spectrum of light, not dark is a spectrum of light - refer to genesis in the bible about that.

Hey Larry. I think it's a cool concept, but is the added work and hassle (it will be hassel trying to work with plants and those boards all in the way) be worth whatever additional energy you get? If you're looking to maximize your available lumens, why dont you look at a vertical setup? When we switched over we gained a substantial amount of weight in our little garden. If you do decide to build it...be sure to post it, I'd love to see how it all comes together. Good luck!

the point of the system is for experienced growers just to put water in the res and just walk away without spending time spreading germs and smelling plants lol, its mainly for hassle free growing. you are right, there is alot of hassle when checking on the plants, a single infestation of bacteria, fungus, or mold would destroy this setup, but its just a theory on light reflection at this time. i grow outdoors, so im just spreading it around on ic
the thing with vertical lights is they're rather hard to cool, in my perfect setup it would go

curving tubing really sucks for air circulation, straight is the best since, well, fans are goddamn expensive. lol
tilted, its rather hard to distrobute the light units across since lights basically emit from a central point and emit in angles, horizontially i think its better since the top reflects backwards at a certain point and intensifies with the light, giving a steady stream of light. vertical is pretty good, but the essence of vertical lighting in reflection is "verticially shooting a light and distrobuting until the light bounces off the top and bottom"
i didnt account for the size of the leaves and stems, since that just ruins the math
it goes much like for vertical lighting and lighting in general

thinking about this i realized, kind of suddenly, that the best way to do this setup would be dirt beds so you can use a single tube plus a splitter, you can even cure in this box just by removing walls, throwing a 40w flouro and letting the suckers fry for a month to a month and a half

also for advanced growers, it'd be cool to add cameras in the box to check your plants progress

heres something for painters, some good reflection paint mixtures is about 95-99% white and about 1-3 teaspoons of green. i cant say anymore, basically figure it out

if your interested in making wood for the grow chamber, the best way is multiple sheets of wood, do the math and the woodwork please, just some food for thought
