Staggered Harvest and Increased Yield ?

I have some bushes and I was thinking about trying to stagger the harvest to let some of the under growth fill in. But from my experience once a plant matures it does not put on weight and every strain I have run matured from the bottom up. Has anyone tried this and is it worth it? If so, how much longer do you take the plant?

Thanks,

i did this my last grow with a scrog.. only because there was sooo much bud underneath the main colas.

i let the smaller stuff go an extra week or so, and while it didn't increase in yield.. it did "ripen" a bit for sure... so those "green" looking/smelling buds, did darken up a bit and seemed more mature than if i had chopped them at the same time as the other stuff..

hope this made sense :joint: :coffee:

If you have clones ready to go, chop them plants down. The clones could be half way done stretching by the time that worthless fluff from under the canopy looks done.

yea thats what i was kind of thinking, that it will just harden up some of the lower bud and not do much else. i guess i will have to really examine the lower growth and see. i trim lower growth pretty good so most of it looks mature just smaller.

this is a seed run so i have a couple of plants that are going to take a little longer. they are big bushes under 2 1k's. i could use some the space for something else but i was curious if this method would be worth it. I think the space maybe better used. Clones are not ready but I could use the space for something else.

on outdoor plants, its quite feasible to harvest that which is ready, and leave the fluff to ripen.

high quality hash making material right there. also often times you'll have color change on the buds due to temps.
