Hydrofarm Lumatek 600W 240v HPS/MH Dual E-Ballast not firing?

Hey y'all.

I just got a new Lumatek 600W 240v HPS/MH Dual E-Ballast after having sent in my other one for the same issue I'm about to describe.

Long story short it seems the ballast won't fire. All I have for electric diagnostics is a volt detector. The detector is telling me that it detects power from the outlet, in the power cord, nothing detected going over the ballast (to be expected?), and then all the way to the lamps/reflectors. I'm pretty sure the bulbs aren't burned out but I can't say 100%. You should/would be able to tell something like that right? Plus I think it would seem fishy that both would burn out at the exact same time.

Since I had the same problem with my first ballast which was the same model, I've actually re-done the circuit that the ballast is on and I'm pretty sure everything is fine there?

Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It doesn't have a fuse. It has these little breaker buttons. I've tried to reset those and I got nothing. This didn't work right out of the box. It's a brand new unit.

lol I'm so tired and frustrated. It's ALWAYS something.

I just bought a new Dimmable super lumen 120/240v Lumatek. Np problems. I have used these ballast for years and never had bad one. I normaly buy the 120v version but this time I'm doing a 240/120v system so I got the ones that will work on 120 or 240 no alterations needed same cord will work for both. If its under warranty send it back. These are not serviceable at all.

^ Ya. That's what I'm afraid of. I just got this one after waiting a month. I'm just sitting here at a standstill. I guess I'll just have to take it to the shop and see if it's on my end or their's.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Welp, I took it to the hydro shop and they tested it and it tested fine. They let me have the test bulb that I saw work so I could test it at home. Brought the ballast and bulb back and installed them, re-connected all my wiring to insure no loose connections, testing the system after each step. No matter what I do I can't get it to work but I can detect some power all the way to the lamps.

The guys at the shop had never heard of such a thing.

I had my last ballast working at one point but then it stopped. Whilst waiting for it's return I had to re-do the circuit for unrelated reasons and now the same problem. I can't think of what the heck may have changed.

Man, I'm challenged to remember a time when I've been more frustrated.

Anyone know how much these go for used? Maybe I could trade. IDK.
S'all good. At least I'm not in Libya or some shit. The problems I have "Oh no I can't make flowers on my weeds!" heh, thank you Lord.

Peace.
