I believe i'm dealing with a planet virus here. After finding all my mother plants were infected with dying yellow leaves that would turn brown on the ends and curl upward. Along with brownish blotches all the leaves start from the bottom up would be infected. I put the some seeds and planted them along side these infected plants. I placed the outside and i got a new bunch of seeds. I find these seeds germinated ok then showed the same signs of disease. I bought some NL#5 and germinated them along with these sickly seeds. I destoyed the sickly plants and have noticed a few leaves starting to show the same botches and brown tips. Am i going to loose everything again? Would this be a virus as it was contained in the seeds? Those sickly seedlings were only with my NL#5 for a short amount of time.

Part of your problem may be ph and over watering give them a good soaking with ph'd water and then let them be for a couple of days 3 to 4 make sure they're good and dried out befor waterin that was a problem i had my first couple plants and if your using soil are you checking the water runoff to see what the ph is cause that's important too. If you do this already sorry just disregaurd this only trying to help homie.

got a white ring around the base of my plants, seems dry i can scrape it off with my fingernail, my current guesses are salt, PM, and possibly damping off...
im growing in coco with gh nutes, link is in my sig, heres the pics

how about this one
can u guys help out
day 29 of 12/12 2/20 fed with grow big 8 1/4 tsp ----8 1/4 tsp Tiger Bloom--- 12 tsp big bloom --- 5 tsp CaMg+ to 5 gallons water ec 1.0

3/8 plants seem to have ca mg def but not sure

i have some curling tips pointing upward and brown spots on the edges and the leaves feel like paper and they would probably crumble to the touch 3 out of 8 plants to be exact

i cant wait to finish this soil grow ...last time with soil for a while..Im sick of the inconsistence of soil .. i have all the equipment to run 6 4x4 flood trays and 6k lights cant wait ..i have 8 mothers getting ready for my next op..

i have also noticed slightly redish stems on a couple plants normal or def.ive read that this is normal on some strains

How long has this problem been going on? watered with 6.5 plain water on 2-18 walked into the room on 2-19 and boom over night this happened

What STRAIN are you growing? NL & Ai from nirvana

What was the establishing technique? (seed or clone?) seed
What is the age of your plants? seeds popped out of soil on 12-14-10

How long have they been in the soil mixture they are in now? 1 week before flowering

Were they in the same mixture when they were seedlings/smaller plant? If not, what mixture were they in before? seeds started in FFLW untill roots took hold then taken to 1 gallon pots with FFOF . then on 1-15-11 i transplanted to 3 gallon to finish out in 1 week for stress recov before i put into flowering

What PHASE (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in? flowering 29 days in 12/12

What Technique are you using? (SOG, SCROG etc) el naturale with a small pruning at the bottom for air circulation went up about 3 nodes up from bottom

What size pots are you using? (Include how many subjects to pot) 1 plant per 3 gallon pot

What substrate/medium are you using? What brand of soil mixture are you using?(percentage of perlite, vermiculite...etc?) FFOF

What brand Nutrient's are you using? FF grow big-- big bloom --
tiger bloom--- CaMg+ i have Gravity and snow storm unltra but havent used any yet at all

How much of each nutrient are you using with how much water? *Knowing the brand is very helpful* i didnt use Grow big at all during veg...which im kicking myself in the ass for now ..I wasnt able to build a tolerance up for nutes before flower stupid mistake but wont happen again only used big bloom at veg time 6 TSP gallon

How often are you feeding? FF feeding schedule every other watering

If flowering, when did you switch over to using Bloom nutrients? 2nd day of 12/12

What is the TDS/EC/PPM of your nutrients used? 1.0 ec

What is the pH of the "RUN-OFF"? when i did a flush on 1-26 run off was 6.5 ph of water fed to plant was 7.0-7.1...i havent done a soil runoff lately but i will do this on my next watering which is on 2-22 if they need it

How often are you testing pH/ppm/EC/TDS? i test ph every watering 6.5 everytime and i test Ec everytime also and i also calibrate my ph pen everytime to

What method of pH test was administered? Using Strips? pH pen? digi pen

How often are you watering? when pots are light

When was your last feeding and how often are you feeding? as directed by FF feeding schedule trying to build up to proper nut strength since i didnt feed any nutes in veg state im up to 8 1/2 tsp of TB and 12tsp of BB and 8 1/2 tsp of grow big ...Feeding with nutes ever other watering

What size bulb are you using? 1000 watt digi hps aircooled hoods

How old is your bulbs?only been run for 2 flowering cycles

What is the distance to the canopy?18-20 inches from middle plant maybe 15 inches on edge of tray

What is your RH Factor? (Relative Humidity)did have problem with low humidity in the grow tent at 29% but in flowering room its between 30-40%

What is the canopy temperature? 75-78f

What is the Day/Night Temp? (Include fluctuation range)never above 80 during the day never below 73 at night have a small heater in room to turn on at 73

What is the current Air Flow? (cfm etc.) a huge 8 in vortex fan

Tell us about your ventilation, intake exhaust and when its running and not running ?8 in vortex vented through 1 hood i have 2 hoods but that side of flowering is a month behing this one ..speed controler fan is sometimes on when lights out to balance the heat

Is the fan blowing directly at plants?nope just over the top of them it moves the leaves every pass though and one pointed down near the pots for aircirculation

Is the grow substrate constantly wet or moist?i dont think it is i dont have a moisture meter but when lifted they are light in weight i usually dig down with my finger about 2 inches down and if dry they get watered..from the looks of things its pretty much every other day

Is your water HARD or SOFT?not sure i think soft well water i dont have salt build up or calcium build up . clay in the well water that is in the groud and it is visible some what if it sits in a container...i have recently flush my water system..preasure tank all of my in house pipes and my water heater ...no more clay build up when water sits in container did this on 2-18

What water are you using? Reverse Osmosis (RO)? Tap? Bottled? Well water? Distilled? Mineral Water? well

Has plant been recently pruned, cloned or pinched?cut 3 -4 nodes from bottom for aircirculation on the 2nd week of 12/12

Have any pest chemicals been used? If so what and when?never seen a bug besides a couple black flies but never more than i can count on 1 hand

Are plant's infected with pest's?i hope not if so im fucking blind

i do also have a line of nutes that i havent used yet which is

AN sensi grow and bloom A&B for dro after this last soil grow
Chaching resin production probably wont use this run
Gravity bud hardener
Bushmaster for the ones that try to get outta control in stretch
snow storm ultra more trichome production ganna use this along with gravity
after doing some research after seeing this problem over night im under the conclusion that it is a Ca/Mg def . im going to start watering with a ph of 6.7 -6.8 which i found out that Ca/Mg def and get lock out below 6.4 but i want other opinions on this

i can take more pics if anyone needs them

well well well where to start your runoff should definitely be checked cause it most likely is a ph issue but it could also be that the nutes may be a bit strong and that could be nute burn cause you didn't build their tolerence to them. I feel you on giving up on soil it can be very inconsistent at times. Also you give detail a new name haha. I know that the redish stem could be a issue but i've also read that it can be a genetical thing as well. Eliminate other options by checkin the things you can. Just my two cents hope you get it worked out man!

so i'm having a problem phin my plants. i'm using ffof soil and water it with a 7.5 ph and the runoff wont go above 5.8 for some reason am i retarded or don't you water it till your runoff is where you want your ph to be? I've watered them with three gallons each and for some reason each time i check the ph of their runoff its 5.4 using a expensive ph meter so i know it cant be that what yall think?

Your PH is off get it to 6.0, and check ur PH meter because the probe/sensor has a short shelf life.

hey everyone im new to the site and i recently started using coco i hand water i mix all my nutes in a 30 gal tote i mix nutes and supplements and that usually puts me around 5.7Ph i was letting them not dry out all the way but get nice and light until i watered again for veg they did wonderful super healthy no signs of anything after i switched the lights i flushed them and hit them with open sesame before i was using RO water i used tap water but still phd correctly i use cocos a+b and a few botanicare supplements(silica blast cal mag) i also use diamond nectar and drip clean i had some problems with thrips but azamax took care of them i have a ph ppm reader and my run off was kind of high so i flushed and they started to get better i grow in 2 gal grow bags with clay pellets at the bottom and still about 2-3 inches of room for more medium at the top so they arent full i flushed with 2 gals a piece. when i was watering before i never let anything run off when i gave them nutes but the next time i water after feeding i would run straight water through to runoff so nute-water-nute-water is my thing it worked perfect the last batch now i am riddled with problems leaves are turning yellow some viens are red the plants are stunted i have a ph meter to stick in the pots and ph is 6 maybe slightly lower pretty much perfect range but still a week and half later and still symptoms i just gave them nutes again last night and im wating to see if they perk up. should i be watering till run off when i nute them or is it cool the next time when i give them just water and let it run off then i know coco has a problem with salt build up and i use slightly more drip clean any help would be appreciated thanks leaves are also started to claw droop down

hey stoner.hr,
a couple of my leaves got the same thing. other than a few leaves, my babies are healthy now.
chances are it's a ph problem. check the run off water for ph imbalance. if the other parts of the plants are healthy, then you shouldn't be very worried.

the plant on the left which is the sick one is White Rhino and the plant on the right is Cheesewreck.

they are under a 400w, hps temp is generally around 28.

Feeding with just water and occasional organic bloom.

I did some transplants Sunday and Monday and all of my plants ended up with yellow tips. At first I assumed they were getting burned from the new soil, but someone at a hydro store suggested transplant shock. I have a couple super cheap pH meters that both say my soil is around 7-7.2 but I'm not sure they even work.

Anyone know if transplant shock can cause yellow tips and if there is anything you can do for shock.

Appears to be phosphorus deficiency to me.

TY for your reply.
It seems i have found my problem.. my ph meter was faulty :(
The ph the plants was getting was 8.5+
I have now purchased a new ph tester and am now giving the right ph

my question is 90% of the leaves on the plant have withered up and gone crispy and theres a slight greenish rotting smell in the tent if u kno what i mean. will the plant be ok and recover or is it best to cut her down just incase she hermies and pollinates the other plant. her water intake has dropped dramatically to 1/2 ltr or less every 2nd day instead of 1 ltr+ per day.

oh and she isnt white rhino as previously stated(thats lined up next)
she is Blue Dynamite.

I can post a pic later when the lights come on if needed.just let me know

hey unjust it sounds like you also water to often. Does your soil get dry before you water? That probably why you are getting that "greenish rotting smell". There is just to much moister and its festering.
