Is vertical lighting in a sealed room w/CO2 possible?

both cool tubes or bare.
again... i am not an advanced employee nor i use their products... but check out urban grower on youtube. most of the recent videos are BC sealed vertical bare bulb CO2 enriched rooms.

they grow 8ft trees in garbage pails.

You could do it either way. If you tubed em you could just pull fresh air from outside and push the exhaust back outside, bypassing the sealed room altogether. If you leave em bare, you will need adequate cooling in your sealed room to compensate for the bulbs. Very doable. Cool tubes would make for lower running costs over the long term, at the cost of some lumens.
Water cooling could be an option too, if exhausting outside isn't an option. Need more details to really help much more than that...

I framed up a room inside a bedroom and it is 8x8x8, orka film on walls, window a/c, dehumid, Sentinel chhc-4 controller, co2 tank w/regulator. Running 2-6" Magnum xxl hoods w/1000w hps eye bulbs. The hoods are drawing air from another room and venting up into attic into a carbon filter. I also have a 1/3hp JBJ chiller that keeps my rez's chillin'.

Sounds like the best thing for you to do is just use cooltubes and plug em in where the air cooled hoods are now. I would bet that your air conditioner runs less after the switch than before(lighting wattage being the same). You don't mention how big your AC unit is, so I'm not sure if you can go bare bulb with your current setup...

Yea I wouldn't feel comfortable cooling 2K in bare bulbs, ur chiller, and the other ambient heat sources with just 8k. That wouldn't cut it around here in summertime at least.

the a/c vents out of the flower room into attic and the chiller is also outside of the flower room. now can I go bare bulb?

2000w x 4.25= 8500 BTUs
Tight squeeze. I wouldn't chance it in any kind of active hydro. With soil or coco, and running the CO2, maybe you would manage well enough. Depends how close you live to the surface of the sun.
So you can either get cooltubes, or upgrade your ac unit. Or take your chances, weather permitting.

Thanks Bro! I'm runnin a 2 rail aero/nft rack until I feel comfortable with hydro. The other 2/3rd's of the room is soil. I guess I will experiment. I am around the 34*N area. It gets hot & humid here.

You really need more light Bro.....64 sq ft with 2KW`s in light is only 31.25 watts per sq ft.......

Your wallbanger a/c`s right on the edge of carrying 2-1K`s at minimum 4000 btu`s per bare bulb , although I`m sure it`s taking care of 2 air-cooled hoods in said sq ftg.......

50 watts per sq ft is pretty much rule of thumb for growers that do this on a regular basis , so in 64 sq ft you`d need 3200 watts of lumens , and at least a 2 ton/24000 btu unit ta carry you through summer months allowing room dialage yr round without overworking your equipment IME......

Good luck...DHF......:ying:.....

Hey DHF
The room actually measures 7'9" x 7'1". I only use 4' x 7'9" footprint so 32 sf is under flower which gives me 62.5 lumens per sf. The a/c I have now works well, it cycles on every 20-25 minutes and runs for 2-3 minutes, so it's hangin in there. I will upgrade a/c when I switch to vert. I will stay with 2k in lights, don't need to get on electric company suspicious list...if you know what I mean. This Orca film is amazing how cool it keeps my grow room....absolutely amazing.
