Some ideas for an innovative Scrog-PC-Case-Grow

hay guys.

i was reading alot about growing into a pc case. i think this would fit best to my needs, since it doesnt require alot of space or money.
my first question is, it is possible to get enough crop for my needs? i smoke about 1 - 1,5 g per day. this means it should be about 90g each grow. i dont say its necessarry, but it should go in this direction (if it doesnt, its at least a little facilitative for my financial situation )
how much crop is possible to get out of an ATX big tower?
could i maximize it by using an vertical scrog* around some fluorescent lamps*² inside the tower plus using hydro for a faster vegetative grow?
i'd like to open another topic when i'm starting my project. i think an pc case-growbox with vertical scrog + hydro + some extra leds should be an attractive project, righ? but at first i have to get the question answered is it worth the invested work? i mean, it isnt very attractive when its going to be about 15g in the end..

* by vertical i dont mean they grow into a vertical direction i just want them to be in a scrog-net around the lamp where i bind them into so all the light is getting catched. if you dont know what i mean i can make a picture.

90g per grow is stretching it...you can LST/SCROG one decently sized plant or two smaller plants and get maybe 2oz total in a PC case. also, 150w HPS is overkill in a PC, the plant can only use ~6k-10k lumens per sq ft, anything over that won't make it grow any better. some ppl use a 70w HPS and have had great results...

vert scrog will be hard in such cramped quarters.

For what you want, I would invest in a cabinet, a 150hps and a good exhaust. you can pull ~4oz a harvest with 2 decently sized plants in a 2 ft sq area.

90 from an ATX tower. Are you high?
One ounce is a good goal. 1/4 to 1/2 oz. is more likely for your first grow.
Not worth the investment in LEDs, fo sho.

In fact, LEDs are quite cheap, comparing to the other alternatives (including their lifetime) here in germany, one led unit just costs 10 euro (click me and scroll down).
Well, an absolutely optimized vertical scrog system with 4 plants and hydro and so on is max 2 oz ?
then i ll try to reach the 2 oz goal (no matter how much tries that takes) and make an easy understandable, subtle and nice detailed tutorial how to build such a (silent) pc-grow-case and spread it all over the world or atleast the grower boards so every smoker knows he doesnt need to go to his dealer anymore and just let his needs get grown under the table next to his real pc!!
(there was a long time i thought i have to get a big locker and 400 watts per day which isnt that attractive to the usual smoker i think..)

its sounds like a nice idea, but lets get real here.

a single 3watt LED might cost $10...but you need at least 12 of them in a circuit with resistors and a power supply, plus soldering skill with a circuit board. and cooling. gonna run you ~$300 at least. you can run 70 watts per day in a PC and get better yields. nix the LEDs. nix the vert scrog in a PC case. Nix the 4 oz. NOW you have a workable goal.

but seriously, if you can do a vert grow with $10 worth of LED in a PC case and get 2oz out of it, I will bow down to you in shame; for you would have put the bud in buddha.

well ok, so far the idea of using LEDs just got thrown off (maybe i could use one to four to get the dark parts of the case enlightened).

the idea of using an hps with cooltube and having a vertical scrog around it sounds much more attractive.
i do not think vertical scrog is a bad idea for the case at all, since its effectiveness of the scrog method is greater, the less space you have (in comparison to the classic SoG). i mean, why shouldnt it work? i do the net around the lamp and bind them into. as i already said i dont want the pot to stay in a diagonal / vertical direction, i just want to bind the sprouds to the left/right, in direction to the lamp, so all the light is eaten by the plants.

btw the LEDs are usable with a GU10 socket, which costs 50 cents and you should go for 10 per square meter (couldnt find anything about lux/K @ google but the description says 8 so i think 10 is the number) which means it costs you about 110 dollar per square meter. that isnt that much at all, including their great lifetime
