I recently changed my plant to a bigger light (150w CFL) and switch it over to 12 hr on / 12 hr off timing. My big fan leaves that 3 days ago where nice and perky seem to be kinda wilting look weak. I dont know if this is normal or if there is some way to fix it. can anyone inform me of what might be going on. I can post pics if need be but was wondering if it was a common occurance.:thank you: in advance!

Pictures always help.

Without seeing pics, the first thing that comes to mind is:
You flipped 12/12 and left the big fan leaves on?

Next I would advise removing them.

Followed by: "How long ago is 'recently'?"

Then I would ask: "Did you change you nutes when you flipped?"

Of course after all that I would have informed you that it is sometimes expected depending on the strain. But not knowing the strain and all that it could be a challenge to answer.

I reckon I'll lurk awhile and see who tackles this one...

Thank you for the reply. ok, this is my first grow. Yes i left the fan leaves on. i guess it would be good to go ahead and remove those. Recently was yesterday morning i turned the light off and replaced it with new light that is set to 12/12. Im using the flora series from GH, i have switch over to the bloom dosages. And lastly the strain is a freebie seed from The Attitude seed bank(being my first grow im experimenting with the freebie seed). Its is UFO breeder - Dutch Passion Skunk #11. hope this helps i will upload a picture asap. again thank you so much for your time!

All righty then...

I was stoned when I typed that, which explains why I was a smart ass. LOL
But I was right.

However had I not been stoned, I would have mentioned that you need to check the undersides of those fan leaves for BORG!

But while you are taking pictures:
Get a piece of clean white paper and hold it beneath the plant and shake it firmly. Show us a pic?
Next take a close up of the top and bottom of a leaf laying on a new white piece of paper.

And practice your close up macro skills on those pictures too. See how clear you can make em.

So, why would you remove fan leaves?...I mean unless they were all but dead.

I personally never do and WOULD never pluck fan leaves..unless..they're dead, could cause a spread of pathogens, or..nope..I think that's it. Even in flowering..if I have leaves shading out budsites I just tuck em.

Leaves are the food factories of the plant. I guess there are instances when it's beneficial to remove healthy fans, like maybe to increase airflow? AND, I know that some (many?) growers remove or clip fan leaves to increase yield somehow but...it just isn't for me. I've always had GREAT success by pretty much letting the plant do it's own thing.

i wouldnt remove the fan leaves either, ever.
maybe in scrogs some would but id tuck rather than pluck.
curious to find out why someone would suggest this
strange
