I-HOP Grape Krush...

I showed this plant just yesterday....due to her rapid flower development I pollinated her this morning at day 23....and 31" tall.

I hit her with ChemDDIX1 pollen....



See it as I do then...

I-HOP Grape Krush = CBF's Straw Dog F2 X DJ's Grape Krush

Straw Dog is a blend of the ChemD clone and CBF's Strawberry work. So now I dust in the ChemDDIX1 ....which of course is based on the same ChemD clone....there is the door....the common denominator between both crosses.

Now there is a higher percentage of the ChemD...the mash of berries in the Strawberries and the Blues....the Diesel genetics are the Ace in the Hole.....any recombination of all parties welcome....by all means set up for me. Chances of finding nothing but junk?.....slim to none.

As mentioned yesterday....I have a grip of the I-HOP GKs to play around with....this one I've decided would be a nice selection to follow the Chem vein....but this will be the only one I think.

I'm letting her get her stretch on Unc. When she gets well set into flower making... and/or needs...to stop stretching...then I'll defoliate her for flower. I'm just nipping her here and there at this stage.

She was defoliated at least 6Xs in veg....her sister doesn't like it the way she does...defoliation seriously stalled the sister plant...defoliation is phenotype dependent I often find. It can be scary I guess....

EDIT....some strains I just can't get....CC was sold out then unavailable at the time....same with Chimera's GFxBB....I tried years ago to buy that one....but never ended up having that in the stable. Now that I broke my bean buying habit...I must keep my nose to the ground and my lifelines out in the water....makes it more interesting and getting new genetics stimulating....

i find i just dont get that worked up about any one strain anymore,and dont feel any desire to take in clones anymore,but maybe im a bit better hooked up in the seed department than most...

Indeed you are....your gardens having some juice for sure. I used to go on missions for genetics....I've traveled for them...now I'm at a stage where I'm just open to whatever blows my way...and have more beans...well you know...it's a residual from making your own stuff and having talented friends...beans just come to me or they don't.

This routine takes place every 10-14 days....heavy pruning the girls that are working their way to the flower studio.

Some of the next wave of I-HOP GKs, Ma Kettles, and Crunges (still have a Mental Floss F2, ChemDDIX1s, Mikado, Orange BrickHouse, Summer Milk in there as well)



A great space saver....this is how I like to see my vegetative stage plants...

....most leaves removed from each branch creates open spaces, directs the plants to strengthen and promote side branching, often keeps plants on the stocky/squat side, and is used to stall plants until I am ready to flower them...

.....gives me a look at more mature plants....for example: I still have 3 ChemDDIX1s that have been stalled for months and months.I have been bumping I-HOPs and Ma Kettles around them to break up the monotony and keep the flower studio dynamic...in part...but in truth...

...Lining up key pollinations or having very aggressive growth expressions is more often the reason for the rotation line up getting tweaked. The boredom is a factor...even if it does take a back seat to the logistical realities. /////running 8 different females of the same cross takes my concentration...I don't like to run them all concurrent or even back to back...I like to step back..take breaks... rather than slug my way through them. It's a focus trick of the tail/////

i like the heavy defoliation. ive been doing this too as a way to stall them, thx Pablos, and its been working great.

i got a clone of GF x BB (GF PHENO) and i dug through tons of threads trying to find one that looked similar to mine. no such luck. over a month later i found a post stating that all clones from GF x BB would have deformed re-veg like vegitation and the pic posted looked like my fugly girl.

the GF x BB has the growth pattern and structure of a re-veg plant and i have to defoliate her 3x as much as my other strains. heavy defoliating her makes for a cluster of buds from coco to cola.

i plan on hittin her with some pollen from my Ultra Sonja and Master Kaze males and since im still a novice grower and know nothing about breeding i have a ? once the GF x BB is pollenated will the BB traits show up in the offspring? i want to tap into some BB.


now back to my regularly scheduled programme...........gettin heavily medicated and jammin to "Telluride" from the Filthy Children.

In answer to your question...and me being no expert or properly schooled...teaching myself through time spent in the garden and observations therein....stoned observations at that::::

I find that if I use a particular female plant to breed with....I can somewhat reliably find a pretty close replica of her expression...in the 1st generation of the outcross. It seems that female reappears almost in good faith....( It helps if that female is a true breeding plant...although that "true breeding" designation kind of throws me off )......

Sure dude....if you are using even a GF leaner like you are...the BB genetics are still close to the surface (so to speak)....and will be accessible. You are washing them down with the outcross...so it may be harder to find them....but I've found that when a BB is used in crosses....it will eventually appear.

I actually try to avoid as many of the BB traits as I try to utilize. My visions of BB are not DJ Short's vision....but I cheat like a bastard and foundation off his work....finding I prefer it come from the male side. His vision is too dominate from the female side....at least in the crosses I've made with Flo and Blue Moonshine. I mean the female donors I used dominated the crosses to a point where I couldn't get away from them....at least in the 1st generation of the outcross.

Pollinations this rainy cold morning.....breaking into some fresh Ma Kettle powder...Casey X Grape....O my a well proven fun one...look at RM's Jones Krusher...or my previous scouting venture...in Ma Kettle.

1st up was 25 day old..Orange BrickHouse....this one smells like a sweet citrus...acidic but sugared....I have high hopes for this particular phenotype. Bogbubble x REB X Calizahr



...also went for the incross on this 25 day old...Ma Kettle...a flat out beasty girl...high octane...should be tits all day. This is what I wanted to see...pretty sure this will be mom dominant and mean.



So...I said in the ChemDDIX1...that I'm seeing really only 2 phenotypes...logical right? Let's keep it real simple and say...there is a more stretchy pheno and a more squat pheno...I showed one of the stretchy phenos a few post back....

...so now a look at a squat phenotype at day 40 and 28.5" tall from coco surface to top...partially pollinated for the incross...showed some wk#3 nanners...



...and a different plant that also leans to the squat phenotype...at day 31 and 29" tall....I passed on this one for pollination....because I'll have the "squats" covered already and later on....no wk#3 nanners at all..



How's the aroma and what do you think...so far... on those P?

I fucking love the smell....I know it even when its buried under something else. Before seed germination....I knew that I was in for a great run....not even one concern or doubt. This stuff has potential... on any given run...to hit the Top Shelf.....a bank vault for keeping some funk in your garden...at $85 a pac ('08) a total score. Also probably the most skunky cross I've grown...old skool".

i think i can smell those chemdd from here! rm does make a fine cross,after the jones crusher i wonder what the f13 casey cross will be like.....

my fave tubes album...love bomb...maybe a bit slick and polished,rundgren produced it i think,but good fun...

....yup...it's at that stage where it gets really funky...all smell pretty much the same....but maybe a little...just a little...sweet smells in a couple of them. It's a very "you know the smell....or you don't know the smell....but a distinct smell all the same"....

The Tubes....pretty much over produced most the time. They have all kinds of sounds coming in and out....all over the speakers. Never saw them live....I was a little after...what I'd call their prime...by the 80's I was never that interested...but white punks on dope is classic and still relevant....surprised it hasn't been covered....by Lady Gaga or some dub band...comes off a solid album imo....

Cracks me up all the baggage ChemDD was bashed with....I just could never see the reality of all the shit slings...the Chem lines rip....maybe I get sick of them from time to time....but that's what recombos are for. I'd rather have a pac of ChemDD than the actual clone. That's a mighty bold statement.....but that's how I feel.

I'll be stoked to see what DD does to Nevs....good one.
