lucas

Hello i was just wondering if the lucas forumula useing Gh neuts is a 500 or 700 ppm scale?

guy at my local hydro store told me gh neuts are on the 500 conversion but i not so sure about it with lucas formula tho at 500 comes out 900ppm at the 700 conv its 1250

It shouldn't matter. If i recall, isn't lucas just a ratio, like 100-100-200...(actual ppm).

It all depends on what is in the nutes you're using. IE, if it contains 1% N, thats that same as 10,000 ppm. You would just dilute it to the 100 ppm of N (or whichever element or amount) that you desired for your feeding. This will give you the theoretical ppm in solution, as opposed to an estimate, which is all that e.c/tds meters can give.

on my ppm meter it shows a 500 scale 700 scale ec and cf just not sure what scale to go by useing Gh lucas formula atm its at 1.8 ec 5.8 ph runing 8/16 no additives when i went from veg to flower i added sum liquid koolbloom got burn and found out my ph meter was broke duh took it back got a new one flushed the aero sysem with clearx for a hr and filld the res with just the 8-16 its 1.8 ec but i just want to know what scale on my ppm meter i should follow the 500 or 700 also i read sumwere on the forums hydro should not go past 2.0 ec any truth to this?

Whatever your meter says when you add this amount of nutes is what you are shooting for each time.

I answered this question in Lucas' own thread once.
The questioner wasn't happy that the answer wasn't from Lucas himself.
When he chimed in, he quoted my answer.

Your meter is just a tool for repeatability. 8/16 is 8/16

Be aware that you can't get GH nutes in Europe, because there is only GHE with different nutrient contents.
