I watched Sin Nombre on govnaa's recommendation. It was very good. I found it streaming on netflix.

I watched that too, good film.

I love this thread, I watch far too many movies but run dry sometimes. It's annoying how a lot of great films can pass you by.

Watched Food Matters last night and garbage. Poor production quality and bordered on propaganda with not a lot of solid info. Pretty much basic, old news info about nutrition and diet. I generally agree with what they said but better for people with virtually no background in how to take basic care of yourself...lol.

The Abyss (1989)

Good movie. Quite long but its worth the watch.
Some nice visuals, and a plot that makes you wonder... :tiphat:

My fave movie of all time Apocalypse Now, also highly recommend City of God, specially since there is so much weed in it, and also, Baader Mienhoff, a more recent film i was hugely impressed by.

A few feet of snow coming, got the fridge stocked and a stack of movies. I'll report after the deluge.

Another good foreign film (non English language(how arrogant eh)).

Mesrine.

Parts one and two, about a French Bandit/freedom fighter (kind of) from the 70's a true story. Very good film, watch it with subtitles not dubbed.

Mesrine is on my Netflix queue and due soon...looked good.

Watched the first disc of the British series Skins last night. At least worth checking out the next disc for me.

I loved the first series of Skins, liked the second, and sort of lost the plot after that.
I loved Mesrine, the one im most keen to get now is the one about the brigado rosso types in Italy, i cant quite remember the name now. I really like European movies like this.
Another Old Favorate of mine is Das Boot, this has been boiled down to a film from 8 or maybe 10 one hour dramas, its really beautifully filmed and the acting is intense, the whole thing is intense, again, dont get the dubbed version whatever you do. Id also try looking on torrents potentially, the one hour 8 episode version is amazing, it used to be shown about once every 5 years on BBC2 but they didnt show it in years now.
*sigh*
I looked, you can now get Das Boot as the 6 part mini series 6 hours of tense claustrophobic submarine warfare, what's not to like?
