Buying a new waterpipe, any suggestions?

I'm currently leaning towards the Grav Labs P, which can be seen here:

After a raid while back, I lost all of my various pieces, including my brand new, never been used, Hurricane. I'm looking to begin my new collection with a nice waterpipe. I know RooR's, Illidephila's, and PHX's are nice, but I want something a little unorthodox. No beaker/bubble, no straight tube. No Zong.

And an appropriate price. I'm not dropping $700 for a piece.

Edit: Stats on the piece -

Fixed Stem P -Trap Style Bottom Chamber
Perk: Twist Perk with Four Diffusion Holes
Slide Joint: 18 mm
Slide: 18 mm Clear Funnel Slide with Clear Handle & White GRAV Label Included
Height: 21.0" inches Tall
Base Diameter: 5.5" inches
Tube Diameter: 50 mm
Glass Thickness: 5 mm

Feedback on Grav Labs would be appreciated as well. Never heard of them before.

I picked up this piece in Reno a while back right at $100. A good solid piece with similar specs. you listed. All glass on glass. I believe mine is 16 inches, 5mm with 2 colored 6 arm perc., dome perc., ice catcher and diffused slide/stem. Hits like a champ and smooth as silk. For what its worth I have dropped this (not on purpose, lol) from a good 2 feet with no damage luckily. Good luck on your hunt. Also, take a look on ioffer, they have some sweet pieces as well.:tiphat:
sorry for the sideways pic., but you get the idea.

Mo, that looks almost identical to my last bong. Replace the perc with an additional water chamber and there you go. Different bowl, but that's nothing. It was a sweet piece, I can only imagine how it hits with a perc. Never owned a piece with a perc yet.

I almost bought this piece from a buddy of mine - http://il.youtube.com/watch?v=baueTbS6EBQ

He paid $750 for it at a local headshop and I could have had it for $300. It just seems wrong buying secondhand glass. Don't mind his English, he's deaf.

Depends if you want form over function and how much you want to spend.

I enjoy glass for the art as well as function of smoking. I have a beautifully worked sidecar bubbler. I really dont like others using it because I have had klutz's almost drop it. As a consequence, I dont use it much anymore.

My everyday piece is a simple 18" straight bong, non glass on glass. I like to slobber in it, so I have a smaller bong for guests to use as well. Even if you do find the rare smoker who smokes corners, I prefer sucking up entire green loads in one draw.

I dont care for all these intricate inside out 50 chamber bongs. They are a pain to clean.

I definitely know the feeling of not wanting others to use a piece. I generally keep those for myself and my girl, or some select buddies.

I'll usually have a $50 bong laying around for entertaining. I'll probably grab a Tsunami (Hurricane knock off) for my "community" piece. It should be able to handle being dropped, knocked over, etc.

I'm looking for something visually appealing, yet simple. Clean, smooth hits - a bong you actually want to smoke out of just because of how nicely it hits. A piece of art without sacrificing functionality.

So far the Grav labs still has the cake.

Edit: BeeKeeper, I missed your reply. After google image searching... that's a pretty sweet piece. I can't seem to find a place that sells them either.

I'd break that down stem part so fast on the grav labs, just by filling it with water and tinking in on the sink.

I'm looking at US tubes. joints are super thick
