hey what up people. was just surfing bghydro, and i saw that they are now selling ballasts that operate two lamps. individual switches and dimmers. seems to be a pretty cool idea, hopefully some of you have some input on this. thanks

I know someone that uses the 600 version and he has had to exchange it twice. He also stated that he didn't have the problem with the regular single ballast same brand.

yeah i guess the older models had a few probs , but the newer ones have been revised. if you look at the web page for the lumiteks they tell you to beware of buying the older models from some places at a discount price cuz your getting the older version which has had probs .

I just got mine back from warranty repairs! (there was a fluke with the return ticket or something so they just gave me a new one) I'm a first timer so thankfully I didn't have anything in flower. But this also means that it crapped out on me before I really got to use it. It took a month to get it back though! lol seeing this thread is almost making me have second thoughts.

It's the lumatek dual 600. One thing, being a newb, that I hadn't considered, was pointed out to me at the grow shop: "Ya I was going to buy one of these but now look at where you're at. One ballast controlling two lights means that if one ballast goes out two lights go out."

It seems pretty cool though in that it's switchable, digital, etc. But having no practical experience yet I can't say if these are just "toys" or will actually help.

i got one dual 600 ballast, i like how you can run two lights off a ballast, less wires. havent had any reliability issues but still on first run.

however the only thing i dont like is how you cant mount them vertically on a wall, something about the inner resin shifting. so after lumatek i went with the Phantoms because you can mount those...
