Got a hold of the water distribution people today. Person in lab explained they harden their water to keep corrosion of pipes and what not at bay. Tested ph is at 8 and lab person said its set around 8.4. Well, next part is where i'm wondering if i have an issue or not. they do not have definitive numbers for ppm for magnesium and calcium content, but, she said all of the various elements used for hardening the water come out to around 120ppm(calcium, magnesium and other elements). However, the majority used to harden the water is calcium. From all that i can gather, it seems that above 200ppm issues arise. Lets say its 90ppm of calcium, this seems reasonable. Would that start to lockout magnesium? or other micro-nutrients?
