Hey guys.
So lets say that a household unused refrigerator draws about 2.5kw an hour. That seems very unreasonable. Lets also say i had a 6w x 2d x 4 h cab .Time to make some changes and invest...

complex drawing key:

light1 =400w :
light2 =600w :
fan =465cfm. Fan is exiting thru "light proof" air vent in back : of cab :
intake:thru floor 6" hole chalked into place, thru my "circle: screen" around the light
INTAKE AND EXHAUST just for light heat :

(this /\, up there, is a box. it is a rectangle. i can not edit that right wall to look correct.)

that does not exactly look proportional but the lights will be in the middle of the box inline with each other. this is going to be a sealed box with co2 reg and monitor/actuator.

SCREEN: i want to do a circle length wise around the lights. technically if i did not have any error in my screen I have about 72 sq ft. Considering the front and back walls are 4 ft by 6 ft.=24 sq ft. times both sides equals 48 sq. ft. and the floor and roof are 12sq ft a piece. giving me a grand total of 72 sq ft.

Now i read somewhere it was possibly to get 1-2 o's a sq. ft.

Ideas please?

The screen will be 9 inches from the cool tube, AT THE CLOSEST POINT, which is the main 6 x 4 walls. I am a little nervouse. I plan to grow the plants outside the screen against the wall and let them out 2 weeks of flower.

everything has mylar on it. I have not bought the co2 tank yet.
I have 2 indoor harvest under my belt. Seeds I have: 2 fem. RP headband, 2 RP OG #18, 1 fem La woman, and one La blanca((kannabia(sp?) UFO)) also 1 power skunk by kannabia but i dont want a skunk. at least I dont think.

this box will use about 1250 watts only 12 hrs a day. compared to the refrigerator which is 2.5 kw/hr. 24/7 .

Therefore i would need 4 of these 1250 watt boxes running 12/12 to equal my refrigerator wattage. Need i say more?

I don't understand everything you're trying to do, but I can tell you that a 600w lamp is too big for the space you're going to use. 6L x 2W x 4H? You could fit 2 400's I suppose... horizontal. Maybe you could do a stadium setup in there if you put the 400's in cool tubes... otherwise I would go with 3 250w lamps. Flip the cab so it's 4L x 2W x 6H, and you can do it coliseum style... Maybe draw something up in paint so I can get a better picture of what you're doing.

and with the carbon filter i mean its going to be out in the open and the cab would be sealed.(if i get co2, that is)

now should i build another lo budget (under $400) cab or get co2 for this one. maybe get 2 250's? i only have around 400 now for supplies.

i only have a 600 w and a 400 now. i basically want to build a scrog net around these inline cool tubes that is in a square/oval shape around the lights to get the most square footage out of this cab.
i never thought of tilting the box on its side that's a good idea. but there is legs on the bottom so it it raised about 1.5" so i can intake through the floor and exhaust out the back.
This cab has to be somewhat inconspicuous. I am going to be putting handles on it and i have to quiet down the exhaust(which i have some real crazy plans for.)
I have nothing installed yet, just the box built. I am looking for ideas so i dont mess it up. lol. I like your grows bobblehead.
thanks.

ok... Skip the CO2. You're not ready for it. Like I was saying, the most light you can safely put in the freezer or w/e is 2 400w lamps. If anything, only put in 1 400w lamp, use that pod for veg, and then build another, but bigger, and put in the 600w lamp. A 400w lamp is supposed to be good for 2x2-3x3, and a 600 3x3-4x4. If you are exhausting the heat out of the grow with cool tubes like in the pic, then you could run the pods on opposite schedules, and link up the exhaust so you vent one pod into the other and exhaust out one scrubber. I would run the veg with a 400w HID for 12hs, and an additional 6hs of fluorescent light. Have the 600w pod run the other 12hs. Just my advice... You'll get better results than cramming both lights into 1 pod and adding CO2. Oh, and adding CO2 is gonna cost a lot more than $400 to do it right... Build another cab for sure.

the refrigerator uses 2.5k/hr (according to my kill a watt) so im unplugging it and replacing its power usage with my grow/s. just to clear that up. I'm definitely building a veg cab, or even use this garbage can and vent it, but turning this into a veg cab would be wasteful.. this thing is huuugee. for me at least. haha. No offense bobblehead but i feel like growing conventionally (if that is what you meant by the drawing.) would be a waste of space if i wasn't scrogging on 4 of the 6 walls on the inside. .if not all 6, but i need a spot for my dehumidifier and ballasts etc.

I wanted to put the whole floor on a "roll out" floor. where the floor is on wheels and a track. and attach this whole circle screen to it, possibly by mounting 2" x 4" 's on the roll out tray and attach a screen inbetween the 2 x 4's ...so the whole damn grow would roll out...but i would need slack in my air ducts so it can pull out... :( . Im trying to get the most out of this box i guess and hopefully with least amount of plants.... other wise i might have sogged like tick from the link o rama.

worst comes to worst (temp. wise) I am going to scrog on the back wall floor and ceiling and maybe one side. and attach the lights to the door so there the furthest away from the plants. than after i get some funds get like 3 250 and put them in the middle and use all the sides for this 1 box

scrogging is a great idea, I'm not knocking that... I just can't picture what you're envisioning. Good luck with it, and share it with us so we can learn.

haha mine too. ill get some pics up sunday. im going to be working on it this weekend. the whole front is going to be attached to a "roll out" drawer slide. im going to put 3 in so it can hold up to 300lbs.
ill show you guys how it turns out

well everything is still moving along. about a month and a week or so into veg. I have 2 reserva privada headband (1 of which has brown roots that im trying to cure with h202), and 1 og #18. i have a flat screen now, just horizontally on the floor. 1 600 watt cool reflector. I saw these real nice, and cheap, 24" cool tubes on ultralohydro.com . they also sell a 36" double bulb cool tube. the bulbs face each other though and seems to be concentrating the light too much in the middle of the cool tube. what do you guys think?
double cool tube:
https://www.ultralohydro.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=208
or just 2 singles?

the temps are 79 on a cool night and 81 during the day with a 465cfm inline.
I have some money saved up so I am planning to re-do this. and might get 2 400's or 3 250s. Anyone know which would be cooler if they are all inline to each other? I want to put a screen against the back wall and do a stadium scrog and put a screen on the ceiling for the top row.

so i would have everything covered in a screen besides the door. the exhaust will be a sealed exhaust going from side to side horizontally . and i hope i can get temps to ~80 or so, so co2 would be able to help me a lot.

anyone whose read this please just leave me some of your thoughts. and any one who thinks they have a better design, i would gladly listen and try to put some more pieces of the puzzle together.

I gave up looking for info and just need some advice. thanks
