This is a old DC motherplant who was transplanted into 20 gallons of organic mixed soil. I did not let it cook before the transplant. This pic i 2 weeks after the transplant, and im guessing that the wrinkled leaves are a symptom of either too high or too low ph. I might have put too much lime in the mix...might have put too little in...whatcha think?

EDIT: Just saw the newly added pic in Stitch´s guide..this is deffo high ph...more dolomite for sure.

Test the Run-Off PH or do a slurry test by taking a sample from the middle part of your medium.
That leaf twisting is a give-away! certainly PH related(Mg?). Nice looking plant btw. DC?
Give more details on your system, medium, irrigation/feeding frequency etc etc? How much per Gal & type of Lime used etc?

Hey Scrogerman and thanks for taking the time.
Well i did a slurry test, and it came out around 8..and yes shes DC. The medium is a good base soil ammended with blood-, bone- and seaweedmeal. Bat and seabird guano was used as well. I really cant remember the exact ratio as i tweak it a little every time...i can say that i use about 15 grams of lime pr 100 liters of soil. Its a water only mix so i dont feed anything else.

http://hubcap.clemson.edu/~blpprt/lowerpH.html.

Let us know how you get on lowring your soil PH bro, what PH are you irrigating at etc.

seems as though you aint got quite enough lime(1-2 tbls per gal dol-lime) but adding more now will do you no favours. Ive got into organics again after some years, suppose the slurry test should of been done first before planting up, then adjusted, ammended, allowed to cook for a time then plant up as you'll know. That soil has a high PH ah, bummer bro. Easy mistake to make i suppose. i always check first &* ammend. GDK obviously you know the score anyway!

best of luck bro!

Yea i know its too high, and ill try to adjust the water to something like 5,5 to balance things out. I did add more dolomite tho....well just have to see now.

Hope they pull around for ya mate! You dont fancy adding Aluminum sulphate then? or elemental sulpher?
Im sure you'll get em back bro! ;) I would be looking to drop it if it was that high. Ill be interested to see how you get on if you decide to just irrigate at a low PH to try to compensate a little.

Maybe ill try the aluminium suplhur..ill just have to figure out how much to use in 20 gallons of soil. The table says 4 pounds for 100 sq ft. when lowering ph from 8 to 6. I "raked" in some dolomite and also started adjusting the water...ill keep ya posted.

No pics, but things are gettin worse. The spotting and lock outs have begun...i simply do not understand what happened here, since i have never had ph probs before. But this plant is not mine, and all i can do is give directions...and im not sure he always follows it. She has become pale with purple petioles, and some spotting. Actually i told him to use a little vinegar to adjust the ph, but he overdid it, and went nut with "adjusted" foliars several times a day. He has now switched to regular water and no foliar and she is looking slightly better...but the slurry still says around 8. Im starting to become worried if i forgot to add EWC to the mix, or perhaps used more bonemeal, than i thought...

Its gotta be PH related at around that Sweet'PH-8(too sweet), theres gonna be problems unless its ammended, its all i can think of is to hit it directly with the Ali S, or Ele S', untill the PH of the medium is fixed up the plants gonna lock-out id of thought, needs direct action. I dont think adding the Dol-Lime would of harmed as it buffers up or down to 7.0 i believe, so thats gotta be a good thing. Its an attack or start again, making the mix right in the first place, just leaving as is, is just going to let the plant dive down-hill as it is now.
Well i hope you get it fixed up bro, but imo only direct action is gonna help, that would be my plan of attack, otherwise id consider starting again, no point flowering out for 10weeks + to end up with a pile of shite buds! I would be Foliar spraying to try & counteract some of the negatives from the high medium PH, it will only help!

I wish you the Best of Luck Bro!

I know its a bit late, but in this situation i would dig up the whole plants, ammend another mix properly, check it, & swap it, foliaring & using stress relievers, i certainly wouldnt leave it in a mix with a PH of 8, consistantly it seems too, worth a shot imo! Ive done this a few times, ok the plants struggle while re-establishing but once they do its back to business as usual ime! This is what i would do in this situation.
If your really carefull it may be a viable option before considering starting again, just a thought!

Good Luck!

Well...i told him to lay off the vinegar in both the watering and foliar, and she is improving by the day. Im am brewing a EWC tea that im gonna hit her with, as well as top dress som ewc...im now almost positive that i simply fucked up and forgot to ammend the soil with ewc, hence theres no buffering from that. I found some Ali S that is used to color Hydrangea flowers, and ill order some to give it a try. I was also thinkin of repotting her into a fresh(rightly mixed) soil. But shes trained into a dense ass bush now, so its not gonna be easy. This plant is a family members first stab at growing, and he is determined not to loose her...so we WILL restore her health, thats for sure.. Ill grab some pics friday for you to see..

Good luck with the repot bro, be interesting to see what you decided exactly to do! yeah the EWC/Humas gives a much broarder range for PH variance/buffering.
