Ever notice how a plastic bag gets cloudy looking? That's trichs off the bud. Glass is best.

I won't argue with you that glass is a great solution, but turkey bags don't really get that cloudy look. They are a totally different material, meant to withstand oven temperatures for many hours while baking a roast or a bird.

And you save on labour, time, money, and space. Plus it's much easier to turn the buds in a big bag.

Hanging buds in your attic might be a better place then a hot closet, If the attic is cool , but once it has dried this fast I would put it in a mason jar and make sure you keep burping it and it should go back to where you want it. peace out Headband707

Don't have turkey bags where i come from but when talking about the difference between plastic bags and glass jars is simply this. Can you squeeze a glass jar? Every time you handle a plastic bag full of bud you damage your goods.

I'd be surprised if they don't, they are generally sold as Oven Bags, Reynolds is a popular company that makes them.
Turkey refers to the size, made for baking whole turkeys.

No worries, stick to glass if it's your preference, I love glass jars myself. Just can't be bothered to deal with it for anything other than long term storage, or super prime tops.

How was your bud drying?
If you had it cut up into smaller portions then yes it will dry quicker which you don't want.
My method:
* About 2 days before I chop I'll water my plants good.
* When I do chop, I hang the whole plant. You want your plant to dry as slow as possible to help get rid as much of the chlorophyll as possible. ( I do micro grows which is why I can hang a whole plant )
* After about 5 days I start checking the feel of my buds. Its hard to explain but after a while of doing it you'll notice when they are ready to be jarred. I don't go by stem snapping. Usually if you don't catch them when they first start to snap its becomes to late.
* I then jar them with a hygrometer...see the thread by Simon "The perfect cure everytime". I follow his advice on the hygrometer, and it works everytime.
* If I'm not in the cure zone of 60-65% r.h. I'll burp my jars twice a day. (If my r.h. is over 70% they come back out of the jar for @12 hours at a time)
* Once I get down to 57-58% r.h. they get stored away for a minimum of a month. If I'm doing a pure sativa it's even longer. My O. Haze I pulled before x-mas is jarred and will be popped on 4/20/11.

Like anything else you'll get 50 different answers from 50 different people on how to do this.
I highly recommend Simons thread. It will save you a lot of heartache, and your lungs from harsh smoke.

wiseone is giving you good advice, i am a few days from cutting and i am going to use this method, i have messed the last few hrv.&cure up, i want to be patient and get it down this time so i can have good smooth fruit, i didnt know how important the drying and curing was untill this last one i did, (the blackberry kush), needless to say it wasnt very good, its killing me to wait, but from everything ive read about it, it will be well worth it.

Here is the dry box I discussed earlier, simple DIY, and the pictures should be all the help you need.

I don't have an accurate reading of how it affects temp and humidity, but I can tell you that in a high-airflow environment, it will effectively slow down the drying time of the product.

The only thing that digs me about paper bags and cardboard is the stale atmosphere that when I smell bud curing in a brown bag it smells like a wet bag and when I smell bud finishing in a jar it smells swamp green. It's all that stale air being replaced with moister and cardboard and paper doesn't smell good compared to glass.

Tho these box designs are going to save me when trying to stealth cure od lol thanks BorkBorkBork

tbh unless my canna is hung for AT LEAST a week then its not potent at all i believe the trich dont reach there psycoactive potenial untill after a week hanging.

to answer your question seal them up like the dude said. id use a plastic bin and keep them sealed overnight till your bud is damp again

completly untrue. not founded in any scientific research anywhere.just utter hogwash when the trics are cloudy you WILL get high.

the resealing is not wrong.thats good advice.

If your buds dry too quick were your drying them, dry them in a small grow tent or closet next time. You can control the humidity by opening a flap/door a lil. When I hang my buds if the humidity is right it should take at-least 4 no more than 7 days before the final trim. Then is cut from the stems into the bottle/bag, if/when moisture still wicks from the center of the bud and its too moist then paper bag/rack until outer edges are crisp then back too the bottle. and again and again until perfect. When they maintain were ya want them I still burp the bottle 1-2 times a day for a few weeks. Why spend all that time growing if your not going to cure it properly? There is a few good threads here on curing, take the time to master it. Peace, pot and karma. One Love:ying:

I leave the corners cracked, so there is air exchange. They just don't get the full force of the air vortex in my closet (a/c + fans are moving the air around pretty well in the enclosed closet).

This is my second run with these boxes, and I'm thrilled with the results. Prior runs dried in 5 days and took a long cure to mellow. These last two runs dried in 7 days and is smokeable pre-cure.

Good stuff.

Won't work for me.

1. No extra closet space anywhere
2. Odor control!

I tried the tent idea (I have a spare DR-60) with a 100 cfm fan blowing across ONA, but my house wreaked of dank anyways, and even 100 cfm seemed to be too much, the buds were crispy in days, so double dook on me.

if your buds dry out after two days you have too much direct airflow on them...you dont want any airflow really...maybe some ambeint movement from a Dehuey across the room, but direct fan and air movement will crisp up your buds.

my friends over dry all the time, mostly because they are lazy and dont check their buds every few hours like i do. to remoist its not that hard...get a turkey bag, throw the nugs in there, let it sit for a while. it should moiston back up on its own, but if its still crunchy, throw in a half dozen fan leaves or a moist paper towel. tortillas work really well too....
