i wouldnt suggest removing the fan leaves
Your plant only looks about 12'' tall

even a 125cfl should be able to light that with no problem.

Hehe no dude, no need to trim yet. You're in the vegetative stage now, when you change the light cycle to 12 hours on, 12 hours off you initiate the flowering cycle. You might want to top her though?

nip the tip at the top of the plant and watch her blow up dont cut nething unessessery until u flower. once it starts to fill in removin a few leaves to ventilate and help air flow aint gonna hurt nuthin but at that stage u will only harm it and cause stress

Exactly right, Gonzo. I might add, though:

Want a tree, let it be. Want a bush, time to FIM (Fuck I Missed) method on this plant. I don't know how long you intend to veg this plant out -- even FIMing needs a week or so for the plant to recover before you flip your lighting to flowering mode. There are people here on ICMag that will use the FIM method multiple times before flipping. The results can be amazing, with maybe 8 main colas instead of 1.

When the lights are flipped to flowering mode, the plant may grow another 2 - 3 times it's height at the time -- that's a matter of genetics. Genetics determines what your plant's flowering time will be before it's ready for harvest. When growing indoors, the finished height of the plant may become a factor -- better a bush instead of a tree.

youve got two large sets on fan leaves after the top large fan leaves, i say trim the bottom two sets of large fan leaves, let teh plant do some "catch up" and then switch 12/12

it doesnt make sense to waste those plants at the bottom, you can let them get a lil bushier/taller, top the plant, let them go a lil longer so they can recoup from the cutting and then flower them out or the let the bottom part of the plant flower out and save the top for another grow

**i say waste those plants at the bottom because if you were to flower that plant now, the way it is, those lower branches are gonna be popcorn buds and thats gonna be a complete waste!! imo anyway.

trim the fan leaves off the main stem, top it, ;et those l;ower branches catch up THEN flower it out when they get nice and big

edit: now that i look at the pic again you can let those branches at the sides catch up as well, and thats even more buds or cuts but my thing is dont waste those branches at teh bottom!! theres no need to waste them if there is a way you can save/ make the most out of them

a good light cycle and a hydro system?! man youll be reaping plenty of buds in no time!!
