Nirvana Moroc x Afghani

This turned out to be more worthwhile than I expected when things started. The seeds came as a freebie a year and the half to two years or so ago. I gave them to a friend, he was skeptical and keeps growing his skunk and nothing else, so I ended getting them back. They went through some abuse at this house. When I went to pick them up they were on a high self in his flowering room, getting blasted with heat.

I had another friend that wanted to grow, so I sent them his way and helped out quite a bit with the experiment. 6 seeds were germinated, 6 cracked, 1 was way behind early and weak and was pulled about 14 days in. Of the other five, growth was very uniform.

I don't have accurate dates on the time of vegging. I know they were around a month old, and about on the fifth or so node. They were really just getting the first big set of dark green full sized fan leaves when the light cycle was set to 12/12. Vegging occured under a 400 W MH.

Flowering occured under a 1000 W HPS (Hortilux bulb w/Super Sun Reflector, 400 cfm fan pulled off the heat). They start pretty slow, and appeared to be indica dominant. I am not sure of the breeding history of the plant, especially the "moroc" part. Structure resembled an indica for all 5 phenos.

The buds start forming fairly late on this plant. Some time around week 4 they really start to kick in. During budding 4 smelled strongly of pine tree, and one had a strong afghani smell.

The first one came down at day 58. It had the most hairs, was a bit shorter, and had perhaps the densest buds. The other four just came down at day 61, and I haven't had a chance to get over and see them, but I'm assured good pics are awaiting.

The only smoke I've done was off a slightly premature bud. The plants were flushed for 8 to 12 days. I found it very smooth, balanced buzz. Everyone who hit basically said the same thing, "Damn, that's smooth." I'll know more soon when I try them all, with the mature buds.

On a side note it was the most difficult plant I've ever cloned. The first round got wiped out by powdery mildew while my friend was away for a few days. We tried taking more a couple weeks into flowering, but they just wouldn't take. We kept one alive for 40 days, using mild nutrient solution in spray bottles. It started to grow, just wouldn't root. Wasn't what my friend was looking for, a bit too short and compact. But, if you are looking for short and compact, this was great plant to grow. I'd recommend keeping it well trimmed too. It was really dense with big leaves, and I feared mold/mildew/bugs gettting to the real shady and protected stuff so leaves were trimmed regularly.

Oh ya, the pics, they usually tell the best story:

First two pics are from day 54, off the fastest plant:

These two are day 45:

Moving right along day 49:

And day 58, when the first one came down:

If anyone knows the history of the moroc half I'd be interested in learning.

The Moroccan seed stock comes from a Ketama hash plantation and has been inbred for 9 years.

Sezz so on the description.

Perty plants and nicely frosted buds there. Good job :yummy:

Day 61

Day 61

Here's some pics of one more of the five getting axed at day 61. This one is the piniest of the group.

BadTicket, thanks for the info on the Ketama hash plantation. I'm still curious about the history or genetic background of the plant. While I now realize that it comes from a Ketama hash plantation, does this make it a sativa, indica???? It'd be one short and dense sativa if it was! Tasty too! :yummy:
