Great Lakers

Hi all, what are you 43 N lat Great Lake-area growers planning, strain-wise, for 2011? I'm going to hope for a late frost to bring in some Flo, MLI, BS2.2, DC, M#1, maybe Bangihaze or Deep Congo/Back to the Congo, if availabe in time.

Trying to stay far away from muddy, confusing, sloppy, mindless stoniness, too often found in early strains, but there's some good ones out there, I'm sure. So - what's going in the ground this year to spend long days dreaming lazily under the great, vast, timelessly creeping, bright, hot, high summer sun?

Whodair, are those alders in the background? Swamy grow?

crf, what's the high like on the Easy Sativas, weak/strong, clear/muddy, happy/sad, short/longlasting?

Sorry about the code language, :-( Guyute nailed it.

Abandoned farmlands. Bad for one farmer, swell for the other farmer. Give me lots of 7' high brush.

Don, @ when do your C99's finish?

My experience with the Easy Sativa is great. The high usually is a 2-3 hr high with a very clear high. It's one of my favorite highs

Sounds interesting - when does she finish, and any clue as to its genetics? Is it racy or nervous at all? I might give it a go if it's early enough, and a clean high.

hi campfire. i made the calio99f2 from wallyduck stock a few years back. a very fruity strain, upbeat positive feelings. for me, it needed to go mid oct to late oct. not sure cause they didn't finish properly for me 2 years in a row. not the most photosensitive strain but some phenos are early enough. they don't like the cold, everything just slowed up and locked out for me. tall skinny gals, 8 ft. guerrilla grown. i just like to be DONE outside in sept and only dry/cure in oct. grown, 44N, mid-michigan area.

my advise for all is to get your hands on as many strains as possible(10+) and do a little bit of breeding to the better 1s and acclimatize your seed stock to your own needs. you can't put all your eggs in one basket with outdoor growing.

there just isn't a perfect strain out there for you, you've got to make it yourself.

is there anything out there that's 99.9% of the time early mold proof strain out there? the one that didn't get any while everything around it got some.

Hi Reddy, think you got me confused w/ someone else, maybe?? I was asking crfhonda about Female Seed's Easy Sativa. I like to be out of the bush by Oct, too, too many hunters, weather going down the tubes. You must be pushing Zone 4 where you're at.

ooops. must of been the bubble hash. i hear you on the hunters, they ripped me good one year, bow hunting season starts OCT. 1. they sometimes set up their stands and blinds before then.

i think that area is zone 5. not quite sure.

last season you could of grown until oct. 29. really warm here in late oct.

weatherunderground.com keeps weather records for everywhere in case anybody is curious.

Im from BC...I'd HIGHLy recommend anything x Timewarp. The pure clones come from a single mother plant on the Island, and very hard to get. Ive got some good crosses that I am able to go into october with here, as it is very good under cold and wet conditions. With the cold, some natural purpling can occur, and the taste is like fresh pine. She is a beautiful plant. On Texada island she can reach 13 feet, I top mine here in the forrested hills and she sits squat at 3-4 feet bush. I cant say enough, huge stocks, tighter nodes, and a fresh smoke. Ive never had an issue with mold or pests as long as you do it rght. I suggest waiting a day or so after the rains of decent dry/mild weather before you chop. I never chop right after a rain. GO WITH TIMEWARP X. Hit me up and Ill help you out. :rasta:

The Easy Sativa finishes around sept 18-25th if you let it go with full sunlight all day you will be getting about 7-9 ft plants with more then a half pound per plant. The high doesnt make me nervous at all. Alot of my friends love the strain when its done. It's one of there favorites.

Thanks, all. I'll read up on the Timewarp. Gonna put in some SWT #4, if I can get the seed, and get it in time.

If this autumn is anything like last years, I could finish an early haze here. But I'm not gonna plan on THAT. Try some Adzsum-Plus in your holes this year (google it) - I've never had stronger, more storm and cold-resistant plants. I took a Mazar down Nov 5 last fall, after 60+ MPH winds, then 22 degree AM temps. It appeared untouched by both potential catastrophies. It shouldn't have survived the 22 degrees, but it did. Adzsum-Plus was the only thing I can think it might've been. Freaky.
