Hi, I am in 3rd grow but still a newb I guess. I have flipped lights 11 days ago and have preflowers that are more elongated than round and some have a hair a fraction of an mm long coming out, maybe 2 but so stubby I cannot tell.

I transplanted the ones with hair or pistil coming out in assuming they are female and want them in bigger pots to flower. I want to get the females in larger pots early and this is why I do not just wait.

I have 2 plants with more round balls with no hairs coming out and assume these are the male. They are still longer than wide so not sure yet.

I know what mature female and male looks like. No pics of preflowers as I cannot get camera to focus, sorry.

So, do males have anything like a pistil coming out of them in preflower stage?

Hey yesum. No male preflowers dont have pistils growing out of them. Google male/female preflowers theres tons of pictures.

An good way to figure sex in early flower is that female flowers are fat at the main stem and taper thin with a hair coming out of it, while males are a thin stalk at the main stem and widens out to a bulb like a tulip. Real easy to see with a magnifying glass.

Thanks guys. I may have some more females then, as the preflowers I see start wide and end more or less pointed.

At $80 a seed pack and months of time, soil etc. invested, I get a little paranoid about getting all males. hehe
