4K No Trays - Blumats in Coco (LUI, LEMG, BBxLAV)

C

Cheeb

Well what are you waiting for?!? They are awesome.

Its a bit of work initially as you have to give each unit attention, but after the initial soaking/saturating/ and dialing they are about as easy as its going to get while still remaining in pot w/ a coco or soil medium.

Take Care..

Blooming now - will have pics up here shortly.

damn, sorry to hear that dude.

How old are those bulbs ?

Perhaps check your Co2 levels in the room ?

And I think flushing slightly later will help as you had mentioned.

Best of luck this next round, how was the smoke btw ?/:wave:

Bulbs are on their 3rd round. Plantmax lamps.

I went ahead and splurged on some Hortilux lamps, but just havnt got around to put them in. They will go in within the next few days so at least this grow will have new lamps for the 2nd half of flower.

Here are some new shots of round 2 - 3 weeks into flower.
These were lower stripped and have been getting bloombastic 1ml/gal early. Instructions say to use it 4-7, but my friends and I have noticed good results starting a little earlier - around week 2-3.

Looking solid brotha !

I think yield will be much better for you this round.
:)

I like the simplicity of this, trying to keep it as bare-bone as possible +1

Little yellowing in the last pic, is that from the camera ?

passive intake for this grow ? any fresh air coming in from anywhere ?

I think the yellowing is from the camera. I dont see it with lights on at all. Will have to check it out during the dark w/o taking a picture to see for sure.

I hope the yield is better than last.

I'm pretty much done playing around horizontal after this round. Planning on moving here shortly and after setting up a few friends vertically there is really no comparison. I have friend whom I helped setup getting great yields - and they've never grown a single thing in their life.

I set up one friend (no experience) with 2000w hung vertical. 6 coco plants around each in 2 gallon pots. I told him 6ml micro / 9ml bloom - pH 6.0. His grow down right embarrassing my efforts...and I've been at this for nearly 6-8 years.

vertical is awesome.

Basement is exhausted to upstairs bedroom. Intake is an old open coal hatch that draws cooler air from under a porch area.

Amen to that, my vert grows were always better, much easier to yield. Now I'm horizontally handicapped !

Very crafty, did you have to cut a hole in the floor ?

DAY 30 Flower update.

* turbo - no hole was cut. I just opened coal shoot which leads to under a porch area and cold air gets drawn in. under porch area is all sealed up, but I'm sure fresh air gets in there somehow..cracks and what not.

New stuff I snagged up. These plant yo-yos are awesome. Got some 2 Gallon Root Pots instead of smart pots because they were a lot cheaper. They feel a bit thicker however.

I'm a bit skeptical however that I'm getting them to work like they should. Last little project with some smart pots I noticed that they were loose around my rootball towards the end of the grow. I'm not sure if I let the pots dry out too much once or twice, but my roots DID NOT grow through the fabric and air prune. I could slide my fingers down the side of the smartpot on the inside - almost like my root ball shrunk and pulled away from the fabric. I dont believe I was gaining the benefits of these things.

I meant did you have to cut a hole in the ceiling to vent the exhaust to an upstairs bedroom :)

Do you have an air pump or powerhead in the rez for the blumats ? do you change the solution out, or do you just run it dry and refill ?

Lemon G Ladies are looking reallll nice, btw.

turbolaser,

o.. This spot I actually pump air from the basement to 3rd floor bedroom. I found the 6" solid round ducting which led to that room and detached it in a spot. Capped the furnace side.

In other spots some have little hatches in the closet to lead to attic - others had to have holes cut in ceiling - usually cut into closet ceiling.

- -
No airpump in these barrels, just a small water pump to keep it circulating. I need to get a stone in there or better rig the circulation pump so that its breaking the water surface because these barrels do tend to smell a little funk sooner...although its never been a problem.

Right now I just wait until they are nearly dry..like 2-5 gallons and then I'll pump fresh RO into them. I'll immediately add dm zone (sterilizer) and a splash of pH. That'll circulate for a few hours before adding dissolved Maxibloom and Bloombastic.

grow looks awesome im sure you will have a great turnout this go, also you have me greatly interested in doing a vertical grow next!

one question, are you using bloombastic with each feeding till u flush or just certain points in flower?

sorry if i missed this info earlier in the thread.

Wow Cheeb pretty sold on blumats after your grow report.... can you add as many as you like or do you have to buy more and more kits the more plants you have.... i have a 80 plant site that i want to set these up on....

how was your final yield?

:ying:

Been a while friends... sorry for the lack of updates.

My interests have been elsewhere lately and have not really been on ICMAG much.

- -

I use Bloombastic in the blumat res at 1mL per gal starting around week 2.5-3. It gets fed always via the blumats, but I do increase it to 2mL per gal around weeks 4-flush.

laylow - I purchased all of my blumats in the kits because its all I could get at the time. The 50pk blumat only purchase was backordered when I tried to get it so I just had to fork out the extra money and get all kits.

If you can find blumats by themselves just buy the blumats, 1/2" or 3/4" tubing for your main "distribution" lines, 100' roll of the 3mm surgical tubing from Green Acres Hydro, and the tiny 3mm tees from Kent Systems. These links and specific part number of the kent system tees can be found in the blumat thread somewhere.

I still did not yield great, but got around 5lbs marketable dry weight from 4000w. Im satisfied getting back to back harvests and try not to get hung up on yield after the fact. I'm sure I will continue to improve my numbers. I'm not doubting a lot of people get great yields but I know for a fact that a lot of newbs are full of shit. Recently setup a friend with the most barebones introduction I could come up with. 2 1k vertical w/ a ring of coco plants around each. Quality/Results were amazing...but I saw what/when it left for market and still had a lot of water weight to lose.

but eh.. I guess if his broker is begging for dank bud..not quite dry..then sell em as much as he can take. I really wish I could get accurate dry weight results from his room as it is truly the epitome of stupid simple efficient.

TrueScience,

Give vertical a try. My 1st run vertical showed very promising yields even with a shitty crop. My "never has grown a thing" friend is already an instant success and all I did was hang 2 vertical 1ks for him, put em' in coco, and tossed him some micro/bloom. I stopped by a few times throughout his cycle and was truly amazed at his progress - achieved with so little.

- -

I put this room on a stagger so I only harvest 2 lights ever 4 weeks. I've got a real nice canopy on the one half right now.. I'll try to snap some shots soon - almost 4 weeks in.

Take Care all,

B

BlueberryNutz

running my first blumat and coco grow. it should be friggin sweet. your grow looked sick. hopefully you will yield better next time
