PPM Question...

I checked the PPM of my run off last night and it's coming out the pot a lot higher than whats it is going in.. It's right around 950 going in and it is almost 1600 coming out! Plants look great though... I went ahead and fed them with a mixture of just H2o2 and Hygrozyme.. It dropped the runoff to about 1150. I am afraid that if I water with nutes again, the PPM will jump up. Should I water with just water a couple more days till the PPM drops a bit more?

I find that the run off of my own plants is generally a bit higher than what I add for the entire grow. Though it is usually within 0.6 to 1.0 EC increase (about 300 to 500 extra ppm).

So when feeding at 1.4EC I usually have a run off of about 2.0. Sometimes more, sometimes less.

I think 950ppm is a little on the higher end of the spectrum but just make sure you keep getting enough run off and things should be okay over the long haul.

I find Canna Coco washes out A LOT of salts. Not as high quality as they would like us to believe.

Thanks for the replies guys! I am little confused now though.. I was under the impression that 950PPM was a pretty good number and not on the high side at all.. Can anyone clarify this?

On the light feeding schedule canna recommends going no higher than 700ppm. Regular strength is 860. The highest that Canna recommends on their heavy feeding schedule is about 1050.

950ppm is within the range, but it is near the upper end of things. Not all plants will respond as well to such a high EC.

from what i understand you shouldn't worry about runoff ppm, i've been told don't even test it, just make sure whats goin in is correct...

950 is a bit on the higher side, i've gone as high as 1200 on some strains, if the plants are enjoying don't go changing things on them, id keep on with what your doin unless the plants tell you otherwise.
