So I got some seeds from an online bank..I germinated 2 seeds using the paper towel method. One is a Female Seeds Northern Lights, the other is Greenhouse Seeds The Church both are feminized in a 36"x24"x63" grow tent. Both popped in 24 hours and were put in a keg cup with Organic potting soil. On Feb 2nd both seeds sprouted. Since then they have been under 200w of 6500k CFL , and 50w t5 5500k on 24/7 light cycle. They were place about 2 inches from the bulbs and after one week I have this ....

My questions are this, how do they look?
When should I put them into their 3 gallon smart pots ?
Is it possible to be too bushy ? Seems like there is no stretch.
Should I scrooge,top, trim ?
Should I back the light away a little ?

The more advice the better and I will probably turn this into a journal so please follow along . This forum has been a wealth of knowledge and I want to thank everyone in advance for posting there info for others to work off .

They looks healthy, big leafs for being Northern lights.
If I where you I would have backed of that light a little bit.
It´s a cfl but a very strong one!

You could put them in the new pot right away. No reason
to have them put in that little pot

Another thing, if its your first grow. Dont worry so much about
topping, trimming and all that stuff. Some lst maybe but you
dont need to do all that stuff

One advice though. Read this thread Careful

Good luck, stay safe

yeah i'd definitely back the light up a tad and i only lst i've topped plants befor but never had a bud that compared in size to the main cola's. Just tie down branches and i even tie up fan leaves if you have the time later in flowering so my light penetrates the canopy to its maximum potential.

I would keep the light distance you've been using. So far, all i see is very vigorous growth and the leaves don't look burned. Why change that? I suppose high temps often lead to hermies, but with solid seeds you shouldn't be so worried about that.

I've also read that its better to start seedlings in small containers because of the way the soil dries out. If its too big, they stay too moist and don't form good roots. I'd wait a week or two to transplant.

If you're going to be flowering with less than a 250 hpps or using CFL's, you definitely can't be too bushy. Its just going to have denser nugs closer together.

You're definitely a ways away from topping/trimming/lst. Make the decision to do this based on your lighting. LST/Scrog are important for evening out your canopy and getting equal light to all parts of the plant especially on lower wattage grows.

Good luck dude.

high man, if you want more stretch you need more red light. fact is, cannabis needs both red and blue during all stages of life, just in different ratios during different stages.

for a good rule of thumb figure about a 3 to 1 ratio, blue to red during the vegetative stage and the opposite during flower.

peace, and stay safe, SOG
