From experience, I can tell you a one hour test does not indicate real world conditions.
Run it with the lights on for 18 hours for a couple of days and watch your temps.
My cab stays below 70 if the lights are only on for one hour. After being on for 18 hours, temps get closer to 80.

 Great deal, KifThief. I hope those temperatures work out for you. All this PC case talk is making me want to engineer a new one too :chin:

so i think im going to be using miracle grow moisture control. Ive been doing alot of reading on it and it seems like as much as people hate on it, its still pretty decent soil. Plus i already have a bag :p i would use better soil like foxfarm but the closest place that sells that is like 60 miles away from me, so its not too practical. i was planning on pH testing it and everything and possibly mixing in some perlite, what do you guys think?

im currently using miracle gro potting mix and its working out fine so far. Definitely mix in some more perlite; if i could go back and do it before i planted the seeds i would.

If you mixed some dolomite lime in there it would naturally balance its pH. And yeah, use lots of perlite.

cool, what ratio of soil to perlite do you think is a good mix? and how much lime would i want to mix in?

Yeah im still around, i was snowboarding over the weekend and got tied up in alot of stuff on monday a tuesday, but i'm going to get the soil worked out today and hopefully be able to germinate some beans tonight. (Ive got 3 sour diesel, 1 cheese, and 1 green crack)

Well i just did my final dark room check, i had some substantial leaks that i had to fix and a few other things i just needed to finalize, but it is now finished and in place and im getting ready to start germinating some seeds :D

I'm gonna plant them in jiffy pots and from there into the soil

Well I just started germinating 3 sour diesel seeds in jiffy pots, so I'll post pictures when they start to sprout. I'm going to give them 18/6 lighting for about 10 days after they sprout then switch them over to 12/12. They are starting in just the peat pellets, which i will plant in soil in plastic cups which i will transplant to 8 inch square pots

heres what it looks like right now :

i had the plants on a stack of xbox game boxes, but they restricted air circulation and my box got too hot so i installed my scrog early so that the jiffy pots can be about 3 inches away from the cfls and temps are running fine now.

 Though it looks a little ghetto on the inside, I'd say it has potential to be one of the best PC grows I've seen in terms of: stealth and odor control, lighting, and temperatures. Good work :dance013:
