Sulphuric acid. For 8$ you can make 4gallons of ph down. It is stable and works great in straight hydro too.

It's battery acid bro, I get it at an auto parts store.
Fill a gallon bottle with water and take out 8 oz. of water then add 8oz. of the battery acid(new), done.remember to never pour water into the bottle of battery acid.
Their are a ton of benefits to using it. me and scrogerman were discussing it in some thread He also posted an article about water quality and technical stuff about sulphuric.
I will say that I dont use phosphoric ph down in veg cause if your water is hard you can use so much ph down that you are overdosing the plant with phosphorus when they need nitrogen. This can cause lockout too. Nitric acid ph down is hard to find and supposedly not too stable. Vinegar is no good in my book in hydro it gave me slimey water. heard good things about citric acid but not sure how good it is in hydro? I cant afford to use anything but sulphuric and it really works good. Also gotta say that once mixed w/ water it is less caustic than gh or an ph down.
good luck

google bulk citric acid and bulk potassium bicarbonate (earth juice Ph down / Ph up) cheap and more fun than battery acid. both are crystals so you can't spill/splash

redrum after you mix w/ water you use accordind to your needs.
greenmatter its super easy to use and not caustic after its mixed. 14$ for 4 gallons of mix is as cheap as it gets. If you are doing coco or soil the ej one will work but not as good in water culture.

the label will tell you what is in it (i think). if the the words sodium or chloride are in the ingredients put it back on the shelf. an msds sheet should tell you about the bad metals that could be in it. dosing a 20 gallon rez and a 5000 gallon pond are two different things if a tablespoon is enough to work on the pond, but it is all the same stuff. cyat is thinning down sulphuric before he puts it in the rez. read his posts

Has anyone else tried lime water?

Take lime mix with copious quantities of water, shake vigorously, let settle and the clear liquid is lime water. The solution is virtually pure Ca and OH and is at a pH of greater than 12.

The formula is: Ca(OH)2. Might be a CHEAP solution for Calcium deficiencies too. Cost less than $8.00 for a 50lb bag, which will last at least two lifetimes.

I used nitric acid 55% solution, with a dropper used about 4 or 5 drops. It worked great. I'm in veg at the moment. Getting some phosphoric acid for the flower stage!
The nitric acid was cheap. paid about $5 for a liter, used very little in the process.
