MY first grow!

I emphasize MY first grow because this is not my first time growing, but is my first time with a CFL cab setup... past years i was helping a buddy with a 8k flower/ 2k veg grow which was phenomenal, till we got robbed. but now i have a old dresser that I converted to a cab, it measures roughly 27"x27" and 17" deep, i currently have 5 23w CFL's (mixed spectum) running for sprouting/veg, and i plan to upgrade to 42w+ once i flip to 12/12.... ill have to get some pics up to better illustrate, my major concern is lighting and if i have too much space for my light capabilities. the cab has 5 fixtures hardmounted so i can always use a splitter to run 2 CFL's from one or all fixtures. today i installed a ventilation system via 4" inline duct fan and flex ducting similar to most ive seen on here.... any comments/advice/questions are welcome..... god this site is awesome.

BTW: the seeds i have going were pulled from an outdoor crop that saved our ass after getting robbed, outdoor seeds from one or all of the following: tangerine haze, train wreck, OGkush/abbussive (any of these good candidates for a micro setup??) i'm thinking the train wreck would be best

next time, you can simply go back and "edit" your original post until you get it right, instead of posting 4 times in a row. :)

good advice... it would be easier to just be able to delete your own posts...but lesson learned

Looks like you are off to a good start.
It's hard to see your ventilation system in those pics. Try using your flash to capture all the details.
5x42w should be fine in that size cab. Like you said, you can always add splitters and double the light (and heat).
The middle of the cab seems like it could use more light. Maybe the larger size of the 42 watters will make a difference.
What are you using for water, medium and nutes?

agreed sarge, for right now just sprouting i have some crappy re-used potting soil with a little extra perlite once i get some roots and such ill plan on transplanting into some fox farm and get by with as little nutes as possible for veg... trying to keep it pretty organic used to use alot of General Hydro products so ill proballs stick with their veg and their bloom

so went and got some ph down and some flora-gro (gen. hydro)... little ones dont seem to be liking the high ph of the tap water around here, but they are big enough to start feeding so that is good! just got a nice thermometer to start watching temps inside the cab. ill update pics in a few days.

GH, AN, Ionic. It's all good.
Just keep it simple. You dont need all the enzymes, humic/fulvic, vitamins, steriods the nute manufactures market to growers.
I used to be on board with FF soils, using Happy Frog for several grows. There's plenty of nutes in it, especially for newer plants. Not enough for later stages of flower.
I now like using Promix ammended with EWC, perlite, lime and guanos for my soil grows and mommas.
Either way, you should be good.

yeah i agree, my philosophy has always been, let the plant tell you what it needs....im already enjoying this little cab setup compared to a large grow, walked out of the hydro store with everything i should need for veg stages for less than 20 bucks... the ph down will probally last me 3+ full grows!!

can someone help me with figuring out WTF this thing is doing?
sUPcn.jpg

it is only a day or two younger than my largest sprout but instead of showing a set of fan leaves; 2 little white hairs have poked out, very little vertical growth in the past few days and no foliar growth?? light schedule has stayed on 24/0 for the life of the plant
