I've been using lc's mix for a few years and want to try something different. This is what I got but don't know how much or what to use per gallon of soil
Oyster shell flour
K-mag
Kelp meal
Neem seed meal
Crab meal
Blood and bone meal
Guano high N and P
Diatomateous earth flour
Greensand
This will be mixed with 50% peat moss, 25% pumice, and 25% worm castings. What would you use and how much?

I basically use the same soil mix that you described.

As far as the amendments that you've sourced or are at least considering using, I use 'something' like 1 tablespoon of each one to 1 gallon of potting soil.

With the exception of Diatomateous Earth - an agent that I have no personal experience using. As far as NJ Greensand - it's pretty much useless in a short-term container grow as it takes 8 - 10 years to break down completely.

I have no personal experience with bat or seabird guano for the same reasons that I don't use/consider NJ Greensand, i.e. extremely long break down times required, i.e. limited benefit @ high costs.

Thanks Clackamas Coot, I was hoping you would respond.
So if I use a tablespoon per gallon of the following, will I have a balanced soil or do I need to add something else?
Oyster shell flour
K-mag
Kelp meal
Crab meal
Neem seed meal

Toss in some alfalfa meal, fish meal and fish bone meal and you're dancing! Just an opinion of course.

And get your neem/karanja meal from NeemResource.com - the only organic source for these meals that I've been able to find. If you find another source please share it with others. There aren't too many neem meal importers as things turn out.

Naomi's is where I got the neem seed meal. I'm pretty much stuck with what I got. Will some neptunes harvest make up for the alfalfa, fish, and fish bone meal?

Correct - Naomi's is a product packed by Naomi's Organic Farm Supply in Portland, Oregon. There is no other source - definitely not enough volume for wider distribution! LOL

Here are 4 things that really helped me along:

Pulverized/Powderized Dolomite Lime @ 1/2 to 1 TBS per gallon
Azomite (micro & i think it adds nice flavor to the soil) @ 1/2 to 1 TBS per gallon.
Humus @ 1/8th to 1/4 of total mix (I mix half & half with EWC & Humus)
Mycorrhizae (Just use it)

If you go to the Dyn-Gro.com web site you'll find that they carry neem seed meal in 20 kg. bags. I 'believe' that the price is around $45.00 which is a great price.

Where you get killed is in the S & H - no criticism on Dyna-Gro at all. It's just that carriers (UPS, et al.) charge a higher rate for bagged packages, i.e. greater exposure to damage claims.

NeemResource.com out of Minnesota has the same issues. 22 kg. bags are $38.00 or so. Freight to the West Coast (or at least Oregon) was the same price, i.e. $38.00 meaning that it doubled the landed cost.

Double down, baby!

A closer supplier

A closer supplier

Clackamas Coot,

Awhile ago you had referenced 2 suppliers of crab meal, shrimp meal type products one being (naomisorganics.com) and another somewhere in the minnesota area. I have not been able to locate the link.

Do you recall the supplier I am referring to? I am trying to source more local offerings.
