We as Americans will not give up our so called luxuries. Each day a new law is passed stripping us of what little rights we have, and all we do is nod our heads yes and worry about being home in time to watch Glee.
At the rate we are going I feel in 10 years there will be the elite upper class and the rest of us will be nothing more than Uncle Tom's "yessum master, I'z be a good slave". Well it is like that now, but it will be obvious to most by then

Probably because the American government faced with a revolution or civil unrest like Egypt is experiencing, would kill the internet, cell phones, land lines and carrier pigeons.
