My buddies clones aren't rooting as quickly as they should be in his botanicare cloner and isn't too sure what to do.. I suggested a fresh Batch of water with some H2o2 to make sure things are clean, but wanted to check first.. So do you think H2o2 will benefit him? If so, how much should he add per gallon? He said he has been monitoring the water temps and they have been fine... Thanks!

H2o2,hydogene pyroxide, is used a a sterilizing agent. Run it at 300ppm for twenty four hours before you put in the clones. Put those neoprene collars in boiling water to sterilize them.

Hydrogen peroxide breaks down to water and oxygen in less then 24 hours.
2H2O2 >2H2O +O2

isnt the O2 what is helpfull for rooting?
I always thought it gave the roots an extra blast of oxygen, but not sure?

Bingo. The hydrogen peroxide sterilizes the clooner then it provides a oxygen boost.

I wish I could find gallons of peroxide!!! I use it in everything! Works awesome! Pretty much instant oxygen! Saved one of my dro buddies from a case of root rot. Use it! I put about a 1/4 cup in my 20 gal cloner res

hey brutus, you can find H2o2 at beauty supply stores in concentrated gallon jugs...

oh. yes, i remember seeing someone using it in a grow, but do not remember how much they were using...whats the question again?

Be very careful when purchasing H2o2 that is from a beauty salon, or from a hydro store for that matter. They are very concentrated products and one mistake can hose your whole grow. The stuff from the beauty salon may well be cut with buffers that we simply do not want in our plants nutrients.
Hard to screw up using 3% from the grocery store that is buffered with pure water.
You can use anywhere from 30ml-60ml 3% H2O2 per gallon of water without worry.

And like Rick stated, it helps to clean the res and provide an extra boost of oxygen.
And it will indeed dissipate in anywhere from 1-3 days, depending on the load of organic material that is within the res.

But it does NOT sterilize things. Not in the traditional sense that many think. H2O2 will indeed attack any sort of anaerobic bacteria that is present in the res and on the plants roots, but it does not attack aerobic bacteria (*beneficials) and in fact helps to feed them...as they thrive in the presence of the extra oxygen that the free radical O molecule H2O2 provides.
