New DR120 II, some autos to get things going!

Hi all and welcome to some sort of attempt at a log of the first run through my new DR120 setup.

DR120 Pro/II (whatever it is I like it)
400 watt hps from HTG for now, 600 digi in a month perhaps
perlite hempys in beer cups then raised transplant into anything around
Veg is a 6 tube 4 foot t-8 fixture from home de pot
170cfm inline fan with matched carbon filter 4" ducting
Oscillating fan for air movement.
GH nutes following low light lucas formula of 0-5-10 grow-micro-bloom per gallon.

The speed devil and fast bud have some weird leaves, the serrations are raised, like a claw, but I am feeding the same as all other plants and they have even been given ph'd tap twice in a month and tilted to drain as much of hempy res as possible. I am thinking and hoping that it is just the ruderalis rearing its head.

Any thoughts on the progress thus far?

Should I make some fast bud/sour 60s, speed devil2/sour 60s, and of course some more sour 60 beans, the male looks nice so far! I can isolate him in other room and collect pollen, dust the sweet seeds genetics and the female sour 60 with it and be set on auto seeds for a while.

Thanks for checking it out and please don't be mad that the stuff in veg is not autos, I want to rotate photperiod plants into the tent. Instead, I will be setting up a space for autos with 2 x 55w PLL I have from a reef tank fixture my friend gave me and a 70 watt HPS. I may use a CMH bulb in the 70 watt, I already have two 3000k 55 watt PLLs, or I may get a 250 watt HPS or CMH for it if temps are in control.

Any ramblings are attributed to some bubble I just torched!

They look good. I love the healthy bushes up there.

I also have a DR120. You aren't doing it justice with a 400w! I use a 600w air cooled hood, a 435 CFM fan and a FootHill filter (the one made for 450 cfm I believe.) It's a lovely setup. Perfect for a personal grow for 2-3 people.

Only gripe I have is I can't find a cheap flood tray to use to fit the full dimensions of this tent. Right now I have a lot of unused space but it's all good. Secret Jardin really out-did-done themselves with these tents.

Hey man, nice plants..

I too am using a DRS120II, I can't really fault it at all for the price.

400 is ok for veg in there I think, if you have a reflector with a good light spread.

But I went to 600w for flower.

Thanks for the replies !!! and mitch.

Definitely going for a 600 watter ASAP. The autos will be finishing in the tent even if I switch it to 12/12 in a few weeks when I have some regular photo period clones ready from the cheese or those two big bushes in the front of veg. Those are unknown plants that were given to me in rapid rooters at 2" tall. Looks like at least one of them is female!

The real fun will be finding a new home for some autos to get me through my in between tent harvest times! The 2 x PLL 5 watts and 70 watt HPS setup will satisfy my need to tinker and get dialed in on a scrog/LST so I can leave the tent alone and humming along.

Mitch (or anyone with experience breeding autos), do you think a sour 60 male x fast bud would be worth doing or should I just stick to inbreeding the sour 60 a little for some more seeds? Are the fast bud and speed devil too far along now to be pollinated? They are at 40 days from seed but had a slow start under floros and sometimes temps of 65, a little chilly.

How long do I have to get that horny male out of there judging by the pics?

Cool man, nice to see a mixed run..

If you can get the AF's through seedling/pre-flower/stretch on a higher ratio of light, 20/4, 18/6 or similar (couldn't see what you had stated they were on) then you shouldn't lose too much in yield when switched to 12/12 for the remainder of there flowering period.

Keep up the good work anyway. Mitch

They are on 20/4 under 400 watts and I am delaying the switch to 12/12 for when they are showing in flower. I don't have any 12/12 plants ready for the tent yet anyways. The sweet seeds pair will probably finish under 20/4 unless they go over 70 days and the Sours will probably have to deal with 12/12 for at least their last month since I will have cuts or something ready to go 12/12 at that time.

cool, seems like you have it planned out well.

Stealth dragon recently did S60 under 12/12 and had nice results so i'm sure you will be fine.

Cheers, for the +rep on my thread too

Right at lights on today, speed devil (back right) looks a little droopy. Too much water or not enough? Maybe there's a lot of perlite dust in the res on that one.

Needs me a 600 or maybe even a 1000. I'll do one run with the 400 once summer gets here to gauge temps.

Im new to hempy buckets and still learning as I grow, I think the drooping is slight over fert, you cant over water a hempy bucket. Its also a good idea to plain water before you feed or you will burn the roots.

So... there's never a problem with algae on that perlite with the Hempy Bucket? Do you add bleach or hydrogen peroxide to your water? I totally have to change the perlite in my cloner from time to time do to algae growth.

The Sweet Tooth Fast Bud is getting me pretty worked up over here btw,, like what Im seeing!!

Is that a 12/29/10 start date on the Fast Bud I see in a previous pic?

They've perked up a lot eh son?
Tell me about it! I need to do new pics again the sours are really going for it. The slower one has overtaken the faster larger one and is now taller than it despite looking to be about a week behind on flowers. The two freebie sweet autos are getting frosty and thick.

there was some algae at the beginning but it dies off pretty fast once the plant shades it. Nothing added to the water except 2 part lucas formula at 5ml/10ml per gallon.

The fast bud and speed devil were put into the perlite party cups with just the hint of a tap root showing on 12/29/10, correct!

Plants look good. I'm growing some fast bud myself. Looking forward to seeing the final product. I see you have your party cups in the bigger pots. Did you just cut off the bottom part of the cup and stick it in the bigger pot? I have my fast bud seedlings in party cups right now and was thinking about transplanting them in a week or two.
