Why do you smoke (and in some cases grow) weed?

to take away any frustrations i have and have the ability to reason with a situation rather than feel it. better clarity in the way i think. also better desicion making and to create a peace within myself.

ps i hate alcohol. its a tool to keep everyone stupid enough to follow g'ments rule...and it creates violence and stupidity

i do not really care for alcohol anymore either but this is an absurd statement. not everyone is violent or acts stupid with alcohol. people like to categorize all weed smokers as lazy and stupid and i'm sure you don't appreciate those stereotypes so why are you going to go ahead and stereotype everyone that uses alcohol as stupid and violent? there are millions and millions of people that drink all over the world. to sit here and say they all act the same is the dumbest fucking thing i have ever heard. its like saying everyone with a gun is a killer because that's what the Columbine high school kids used. its simply not true. quit with the stereotypes. its makes you sound as stupid as the people you are trying to put down.

if you don't like something because it makes YOU stupid or violent that is one thing, but to sit here and put everyone that uses alcohol under one umbrella is exactly what people do to pot smokers.
i know plenty of drinkers that don't follow anyones rules and they aren't mindless drones that are surrendering to the 'man" or something like that.
ever heard of a micro brew? or ever seen a moonshine still? doubt it.

smoke cuz it still gets me high in a good way.
also cuz got fibroymalgia and most pharmacare drugs don't put the pain in the back of your mind the way weed does, something unique about being on mj and being better suited to deal with chronic pain.

gotta grow cuz the prices are set so high from being illegal for so long. it's a mafia price and risk still mostly.

im addicted to marijuana, i have to have smoke in my lungs every few hours. after every meal, before working on the grow, before taking a shower, lol. its kind of engrained in my daily ritual.

and when you smoke an 8th a day, going to the local dispensaries gets really expensive. i pretty much have to grow to support my habit and it helps pay the bills which is an added bonus.

i also grow because im semi addicted to popping beans, theres just so many crazy strains available on seedbay that i want to try, i end up buying the seeds and having to grow them to find what i have. its like a kid opening a pack of baseball cards, never know what pheno you are gonna find.

Smoking: There is so much variety in the various strains, and so much to love about this plant, it's hard to know where to begin. I love the creativity/thinking boost; the enhanced enjoyment of music, food, etc. I love a nice body stone that just relaxes me all over and sends pulsing waves over my body. I love the feeling of waking up the next morning after a good stone and just feeling totally chilled out and calm. I love the euphoria that comes from some strains. I love the feeling of being connected to the earth and taking part in an experience that has no doubt been enjoyed by millions of people over thousands of years. I just plain love to smoke pot.

Growing: I love to learn, and I love the challenge of putting my mind to work. I am a pragmatist, and I find myself most keenly interested in pursuits which directly benefit my life somehow. I am a craftsman who takes great pride in his work; when I find some activity or trade that I really like, I put my heart and soul into it, and nothing less than excellence will do. I am a risk taker to the extreme; I am not afraid to try things that scare the hell out of others for one reason or another. I am someone who is highly confident in his abilities, and who is absolutely dead set against the idea of being just another guy in the crowd; thus, I seek out skills, traits, and achievements which set me apart. I am also an entrepreneur who, having tasted and grown accustomed to the freedom of being in business for myself, will settle for nothing less, and whose dreams are filled with visions and designs of factories, busy production lines, automated machinery, high tech laboratories, warehouses stacked full of pallets of products, and a really fat bank account with my name on it. I also find that I love gardening and I'm pretty good at it. All of the above reasons may explain why, as I walked around my home a few years back having just gotten euphorically high off my first (very modest) harvest, I decided then and there that growing cannabis was a perfect fit for me.

The future is looking very bright and though day to day worries get me down and out sometimes, my grow is what keeps my head held high and pressing onward. I love this plant and I freakin love to grow it. I can't wait for the day when it's legal and I'm smoking blunts every day out in the open not caring who sees, rolling around in a Benz without a care in the world, laughing at the haters and fools who wasted their lives believing ignorant negative shit about this wonderful plant.

The answer is - why not?

I know that smoking is harmful in the long run, so I usually vaporize or use edibles. I do smoke when out with friends, but my tobacco habit is 100x worse, even if I only smoke maybe 1-3 cigs a day.

Yes there are legal risks involved, but the legal risks are half the fun. Growing is VERY addicting. It's probably the only hobby that pays you, but take the cash out of the equation and it's still rewarding. Weed should be a currency.

I find the Cannabis community absolutely amazing, especially given the circumstances. We have people here from all over the world breaking the law, spending major man hours and money trying to get it legalized, prescribing it, selling it, using it medicinally, using it recreationally, using it purely for profit, etc and it's all for the love of the plant. I don't think most people realize just how fucking massive the Cannabis movement is.

Here in NYC, "everyone" smokes. Just 5 minutes ago I was about to enter my house and a car pulls up. Chick and her BF are looking for a lighter. I toss them mine - keep it. BF pulls out a blunt, sparks it and they thank me and drive away.

Weed being natural or everybody doing it are of course not really valid reasons for using it. So to answer your question, again - why not? If money isn't an issue (growing) and it doesn't interfere with my life (it doesn't) I see no point in stopping. It has neuroprotective effects, it's fun, it makes everything interesting, it puts me in a pleasant head space with little to no cost (as compared to say, MDMA.) It makes me an overall better person.

But really when it boils down to it, for me specifically, I use it medicinally. Life becomes worth living. It becomes fun and interesting, and I meet a lot of great people in this scene. Normally I'm down, anxious, irritated, and sure I can take pharmaceutical meds. They help tremendously, but not being able to get a boner and feeling tired all the time really takes a toll on your life (and the misses.)

Fell in love with the sweet, sweet cannabis as a teen and loved everything about it including the counterculture that surrounds it. I will smoke and grow until the end of my days.

I smoke it because it balances out my wild mood swings and to help me with my rather severe I.B.D. Anyone who passes mucus and blood on a toilet for a half hour at a time deserves to rib a bong, end of argument.
I grow it because I only want a small amount for myself. I want to know that it's organic and the plant got raised right and respected.
I don't know how to put it into words, but I feel a respect and love for the plant when I'm taking care of them. It's something that can calm me down and help me focus like nothing else has. I owe this plant a lot, that's what makes it worth the risk.

my reason is that i love weed. the reason i present to most people is that i have ms. and it is a medicine. but in general i use it as a general profylaxe(?), against anything, bad mood, redused appetite, lack of motivation, and to enhance a reading exsperiense.

so much weed can do to imrprove the quaity of your life.. so sad it still illegal and criminal in almost all places still. I dont see it being made legal any time soon, but now the medical world is finally starting to accept it has such medicinal benefits with sativex and the accepted medical benefits for sufferers of certain conditions

when will it be made legal though? id hazard a guess in 50 yers cannabis will be accepted in mainstream society in every "1st world" country. We can but hope

I do it because its AWESOME !

I get to make $$$ off of something that makes me and millions of other people feel soooooo damn good.

I do it because I get to stick it to the man, taking money from the rich-corrupt-corporate bloodsuckers who wrongfully made these draconian prohibition drug laws int he first place.

It is a righteous cause, not just about the money.

Have you ever given someone free cannabis who really needs it ? BEST FEELING EVER !!!

O yeah, and by growing your own you get to handpick your desired cannabinoid profile, not just stuck with whatever your dealer has.

And you get to live a James Bond lifestyle (exaggeration), but it can also be very dangerous so be careful out there.
